There are SO many street dogs in Argentina. I still think about one that followed me everywhere. I wish I had been able to get her back here to the US.
There are SO many street dogs in Argentina. I still think about one that followed me everywhere. I wish I had been able to get her back here to the US.
I have one of those named Penny. She is as fast as the wind, can crack a bone effortlessly with her jaws and is the smartest, most loyal dog I have ever known. She was on the list to be euthanized the day I happened to stop by the shelter. When I took her home, it was an 8-hour drive to Georgia and she jumped in the back seat and leaned forward and rested her chin on my shoulder for most of the way. It was such an amazing bonding moment and she’s the love of my life.
Shhh Cowgirl, don't everyone how great this breed is, they will all want one! ;-)
Seriously they are also very protective of home and child, I could go on and on, like your Penny, they are amazing....
Naming an animal is more complicated than I had originally
thought. - I first named our new kitty-kat “Zippy”. She
would never answer to that name. SO. I tried “Lambchop”.
No dice, never liked that name & refused to come when we
called. - I thought “Lambchop” was such a cute name. Then
the little kids across the hill heard me calling her one
evening, “Lambchop”!! They started shrieking and laughing
at that name. I THOUGHT kids would know Lambchop; but I’d
forgotten Shari Lewis had been deceased 15 years & the
“Chopster” had been out of sight since before these kids
were born!
Well, I changed her name to “BRUTUS” on the spot & she
answers to that one. Sometimes I call her “Boo Boo”, but
she still knows I mean “Brutus”. (Also “Cattbutt” which
she likes, too. So, no glamorous names for “Brutus Butt”!
I agree, great movie. But I can’t watch it anymore, too gut-wrenching for me.
We sometimes add the word ‘doodle ‘ to the end of our pets’ names. I swear, they get all squishy and extra happy when we do.
Penny-doodle
Elmer-doodle (yep, a beagle master wabbit hunter!)
Georgie-doodle
Let’s see. DUBBER-DOODLE, BOO-BOO DOODLE (I’ll try it &
see. DUB won’t care. BOO-BOO has the “dignity”, she thinks.)
My dictionary tells me that the word “animal” does not include human beings. Given that, all humans are supposedly ... not dumb.
Have a great day.
