My thought every time this issue comes up...

My great-great-grandfather was shot through the neck at Laurel Hill fighting for the Union...
Put the blacks on ships and send them one-way back to Africa.
Dump them on the shores of Ebola land. See how they like it.
The vikings had a Law of Four. You gave a slave enough work to do that if he made an extra effort, in essence “overtime” applied against your slave price, and if you busted ass every slave could be free in four years. If you couldn’t do it, you were old, disabled, or lazy. Viking law said slaves were your responsibility to take care of, but if you were lazy, the master put everyones’ portion of meat on their plate (everyone ate together) lazy slaves simply didn’t get any. They could fight for what the dogs got.
Doesn’t conservative mean honoring the old values? ;)
I happen to agree with Eric the Red in this case. I want reparations for the Romans taking my Celtic ancestors as slaves, with 2,000 years interest. D@mn it, I want my money, and I want it now! How long will this festering wound be allowed to go unhealed?
I speak for myself and my family but as a person of a darker shade we do not want their money, what is done is done and punishing everyone because of the past which has been apologized for many times over will make things worse not better, to quote my African boss who came to the U.S. legally and has two college degrees “thank god I am an American”.
Can anyone you know? confirm that you know? this you know? erudite, you know? unelected you know, highly educated you know? national attorney you know? can actually, like, you know read cursive?
Such reparations can take a variety of forms and may not necessarily mean cash payments to descendants of slaves
The shit is really tiresome, isn’t it? But for some there’s a living to be made agitating and picking at stitches. I hope you understand my post is a way of rubbing the rape-the-nation crowd’s noses in their own dung rather than a serious call for “reparations” for anybody; for all its immediacy, Internet communication is sometimes clear as mud.
