Ditto that. Here in SW Pennsylvania the last few years there was a constant line of trucks going by my house 24/7. Now just a few here and there. About a mile from my house there was a old golf driving range. The owner sold it for fracking. They started putting back fill for a pad, brought in a office trailer and porta potty but it has been sitting idle for almost a year.

“A Bernie Sanders presidency would be good news for the Saudis.”......
Maybe he can get the Saudi’s to pay for that “free tuition” the little snow flakes will receive if he gets elected.

Gosh, he wants to kill fracking and to kill Israel -- I wonder how those two things are related...

All energy except for insanely subsidized “green” energy is in a danger. Say goodbye to cheap energy. And hello to European crazy spendy prices.
Live in the dark America!

If you can stop Oklahoma from shaking so much ask them what they think of fracking.

If you can stop Oklahoma from shaking so much ask them what they think of fracking. We love it.
Fracking has been making money for Okies since 1948!
Did you have any idea it's been around that long? Be honest.

The real problem causing the earthquakes, IMO, is the increased amount of saltwater disposal. I think they need to start treating it on the surface instead.
But of course, the fracking opponents claim it is fracking causing the problem.

I agree -- it's more likely the disposal wells.
I wonder how the EPA would react to treating fracking liquids on the surface. But isn't there a movement to re-use fracking liquids, as well?

Fracking has been employed to re-vitalize old wells since the late forties. Send a charge down the hole, explosion creates cavity and fractures rock, otherwise unrecoverable oil is pumped out of the cavity.
The difference is that those were vertical wells. Fracking today is employed in horizontal drilling. It is the combination of these two technologies that led to the "fracking boom".
Given that racking has been around so long without having any notable seismic influence certainly suggests it's not the culprit.
A more likely culprit is disposal wells -- which pump the spent saltwater back into the ground under high pressure.

While I would like to know the answers to your questions, you are hijacking the thread and that’s not cool.
