I’ve got a Flash blocker going which works fine but for the most obnoxious of sites.

Correction: Bernie Sander’s rich liberal white supporters don’t understand what it’s like to be poor.

He’s old enough to remember the domestic side of the peace corps that went into Appalachia in the 60s! So many rich kids (Caroline Kennedy) were forced into the mountains to ‘help’ that poverty-stricken area. From my travels, it still looks damned poor and white.

Well bernie, we do things so that we won’t be poor. I grew up very poor.

My lily white mom was raised by a (drug free) widowed mother who worked when ever there was a job as a maid, but often didn’t have enough money to put food on the table. Does that qualify?

He’ll see to it that EVERYONE knows what it is like to be poor. He doesn’t believe that anyone needs more than $100,000 a year to live. Double income households would be capped at $50,000 per spouse if we follow that thought to its conclusion.

But whites do know how to transfer $22 trillion, not including private charities, over the last 50 years to the poor. Did blacks not get their fair share of this money?
To: Marcus
unless bernie has left the country, i doubt he's ever seen a REAL poor person.

Speaking as a person who, in the 1960s had to live being shuffled from foster home to foster home and back and forth with my alcoholic father, and sometimes didn't eat for three days, and lived on milk because thank God,the milkman kept on delivering milk even though the old man never paid the milkman, maybe Bernie can tell what it's like.

I see it's free, but free usually comes at a price? Adblock is supported by donations, same as FR. (On Firefox) If you click Tools->Adblock Plus you will see a button on the bottom of the menu, marked "contribute to Adblock Plus"

I've been broke, homeless, living in the back of my car, often not knowing where my next meal was coming from, and working a part time job where half of what I made went to put fuel in my car while the other half was spent on peanut butter & jelly along with two loaves of bread that had to last me a week to the next payday.
All while I was finishing my last semester in college back in 1984.
I'm white. Don't tell me I don't know what it's like to be poor.
I damn' sure know what it takes to get out of that situation too and I did it. If I can do it, anyone can.

Great story in your posting, SJ! You could probably write a book on how to get by the way you did.

I was in similar straits for a while back in 93. Some was self inflicted but I somehow kept going. There were times the best news I could have gotten was that I had some incurable terminal disease.

I had a stay at home wife and 8 kids all living in a fixer-upper house. We survived quite well on my single income $12.50/hr. The only welfare we took was WIC and occasionally title 19. We could have made ourselves much more poor with divorce, drugs, $5/day in cigarettes, fast food but we were very careful with our tiny amount of money.
Now all 8 kids have a wonderful work ethic and are all employed.

I’d like to show him the pic of my grandparents when they arrived in the US.
Back when they weren’t letting JUST ANYONE in.
My grandfather had on some dirty wrinkled trousers with a rope around his waist, instead of a belt. They had poverty written all over them.
In one generation THEIR children owned their own homes and put their children through college... with NO fed assistance.
I take that photo out once in a while...It makes me sad and it also makes me proud.
Bernie is a moron
