I’m almost to the end of Season 5 of Blue Bloods. Have really enjoyed it. Is PoI worth it?

A lot of those early action/espionage series were very satisfyingly anti-commie... “The Man Called X” with Barry Sullivan, “The Crusader” with Brian Keith, “The Falcon” with Charles McGraw, “The Hunter” with Barry Nelson, etc.

But “I Led Three Lives” was assuredly the best!

A lot of those old TV shows came from Old Time Radio shows. Google Old Time Radio. There are also internet stations that play old time radio 24 hours a day. The radio show Gunsmoke with William Conrad as Matt Dillion was much better than the TV series. You can download all 840+ Gunsmoke radio episodes for free from Archive.org. Google it.

I agree .. it’s who can sleep with the most men/women; who can kill or torture; trashy, trashy stuff .. can’t watch it.

Favorite is still NCIS; Major Crimes (funny); Little Family (their two adopted children are adorable - this season is going to be fun); would watch hockey (San Diego Gulls), if somebody would put them on TV.

That’s about it.

Very true. And I have several hundred compact-discs of them in my library. “Man Called X,” “I Was a Communist for the FBI,” “Dangerous Assignment,” in addition to a whole lot of comedy fare.

THE LONE RANGER, SARGENT PRESTON OF THE YUKON, THE JACK BENNY SHOW, BURNS & ALLEN, and AMOS AND ANDY were ALL radio shows first and some were still on the radio when their T.V. shows started.

There was also a feature-film version of “I Was a Communist for the FBI” (1951), starring Frank Lovejoy. Good film.

Better than another anti-commie film, “The Red Menace” (1949), starring Robert Rockwell, who later played Mr. Boynton on the “Our Miss Brooks” tv-show.

Since I cancelled cable I’ve discovered channels I didn’t know existed. I’ve become addicted to COMBAT that comes on twice every night.

REALLY ?

I'll have to keep an eye out for that. :-)

I watch OLD movies and Brit shows on T.V. and news, now...that's about it. Everything else ( besides baseball games ) is garbage.

I WAS A COMMUNIST FOR THE FBI with Dana Andrews (old time radio) still has some copyright claims against it. So it’s not on Archive.org. But other websites have episodes posted. Just Google for it. I think they make 78 episodes. All of the episodes are posted as MP3 on the internet.

“The Carol Burnett show.”

Great show, loved that show.

Hubby and I got ourselves a new DVD thing-y that is also a streaming device (not sure if that’s the right phrase or not). We also joined Amazon Prime and Netflix and we are enjoying some of those shows very much.

Love House of Cards, it shows evil Democrats as evil. I expect by season 2 there will be evil republicans too, but I can take it.

Hubby loves Narcos, which is really very well done.

And tonight we watched Bosch on Amazon prime, based on the Michael Connelly books of which I’ve read many. Very good so far.

And...we can watch DVDs again! I’m just so happy we got this little machine, I think it was less than $100.00, def. less than $150.00 and yes it plays blue rays too.

“TWILIGHT ZONE”

Well I hope you caught the Twilight Zone marathon on ScyFy over New Year’s weekend. They showed every episode in order.

I didn’t watch that much, but there was a thread about it.

Love Rod Serling too!

Thanks!

We get Serious (wait, that doesn't look right...) oh well, we get something or other in the cars, so we listen to old time radio shows when we go on long trips. I still get a kick out of THE SHADOW ! :-)

“Is PoI worth it?”

Yes. And I don’t think it’s ended, I think it’s just between seasons. (I hope so anyway.)

I RECORDED EVERY SINGLE EPISODE and watched most of them. I NEVER miss a TWILIGHT ZONE MARATHON, which SyFy has twice a year. :-)

That was one of T.V.'s all time great shows!
