Napoleon, in his memoirs.
“If we had any brains weââ¬â¢d get rid of ISIS, let Putin have Syria with Assad, and put loyal thugs in power in every Middle Eastern country to help us counter Iran”
I so much agree with that.
Man - this guy can write and he makes some excellent points!
Quote - Putin is like the kid showing up with a football on Obamas doorstep who wants to play catch with Barry, who throws like a girl and would rather play Connect Four with his grandma.
That made me laugh out loud. Well played! This guy just went onto my bookmark list.
Stop trying to sell me a bridge. Putin is NOT our friend.
Russia is showing that they don’t need a “lifeline,” which, in any case, given the US distaste for casualties, would only serve to slow the war effort. Obama won. We are a second-rate power.
Truth. Even worse, Obama’s working with him and some people want to blind themselves to that.
But he is an enemy of at least some of our enemies, and acts like one, which is more than you can say for us.
The enemy of my enemy is most certainly my friend.
We are at war and the US refuses to throw out a lifeline to the one country and leader that could help us destroy our mutual enemy; Russia and Vladimir PutinEveryone is suddenly FDR these days. The identities of the P5+1, who made the Iran deal, seem to have escaped too many peoples minds. Nice way to leave Israel out in the cold again.
Not in this case. Think about who concocted the Iran “deal”.
“Not in this case. Think about who concocted the Iran âdealâ.”
You mean Obama?
Not just him. The other members of the P5+1 are France, Germany, the UK, Red China . . . and Russia.
So your point is what? We should hate them all?
Ray Starmann make a lot of valid points and I agree with most of them, but "Putin is our friend" does not belong anywhere here.
Vladimir Putin is the President of the Russian Federation, and maybe he should be a friend to Russians, and Slavs, but he owes none of this to Americans, it's not his job.
Putin, Russia and American citizens have some common INTERESTS, and destroying ISIS, political Islam and radical Islam are some of the common interests we all have.
Yes, we should support Putin and Russia in this endeavor, but not because we are "friends", Nations are never "friends".
Well, they all hate us, and Obama is working with them as previously noted, all for a deal to nuke-up Iran and deep-six the USA. Our emotions won’t have an effect on that.
Putin's main goal in Syria seems to be to save Assad. Are we supposed to help him achieve that at the cost of NATO, and perhaps consigning Ukraine, the Baltic countries and perhaps Poland to neo-Soviet domination?
When it comes to Obama, always assume the opposite of Hanlon’s Razor. And Putin, who called the fall of the USSR the last century’s “greatest geopolitical catastrophe”, has always been imperial-minded; handing Syria to him puts him right on Israel’s doorstep and as an ally of Iran.
“Not just him. The other members of the P5+1 are France, Germany, the UK, Red China . . . and Russia.”
Of course Russia wants Iran to have a bomb. Russia and the Sunni’s aren’t friends.
The feckless fool on the hill has no strategy but one—looking in the mirror at his evil face.
