Yep. But it’s not as if Obama wasn’t warned about leaving a leadership vacuum in such an unstable part of the world.

But at least the administration has a strategic plan for finding places for transgenders to pee.

Hell I doubt the U S. is there to fight ISIS. I keep hearing random reports that the troops have been old NOT to engage ISIS. It wouldn’tt surprise me one bit if I found out that the cuurent POS CIC had ordered certain units to provide support and supplies to them. Its a bad day when you can’t een trust your own POTUS one smidgen...

I find the timing intriguing... Russia is consolidating its influence right before 2016.. Talk about a bold power grab. I must say Chechnya... At least they will loose the dogs of war, unfortunately, we are on the opposite side.. Now in a proxy war with Russia.. Ronnie & Maggie would be appalled.

Your post reminds me of something.. ever watch a James Bond movie (”The Living Daylights”) released I think in 1987? Interesting part of that was portraying Afghanistan after Soviet invasion, where James Bond was helping the Mujahedeen (the ‘good guys’) there. Same Mujahedeen, who fought the Soviets, supposedly defeated them, and later, in reality, turned into “the Taliban” (hardcore Islamists)..

Same approach with ISIS (use a hardcore Islamic group, this time to further embed Islam in the M.E. and N. Africa).. only ISIS has gone a a few steps beyond 1987, in all directions, disseminating their Islamic actions first-hand in the age of the internet and social media; no need for another related James Bond movie.. this time Islamists can’t be portrayed as “the good guys” we can overtly be seen to help.

I’m becoming more and more convinced that if Putin somehow could get his name on a third-party ballot for the presidential primary there are a lot of folks in this country who would vote for him. (Not an endorsement—just an observation.)

No fan of Putin here... but one purpose he's achieving is the fact at least some Americans have awakened to the abject fecklessness of the Obama administration.

In this country nowadays, the leader of ISIS would garner a high number of votes if he carried a (D) after his name.

As unsavory as he is, we established a fairly close working relationship with Gen. Dostum as we joined with the Northern Alliance in 2001 to drive the Taliban out of Mazar-e-Sharif and surrounding regions.

I’m thinking Dostum has reviewed his options and determined the Russians would be more resolute in keeping the Taliban from returning to power. Can’t blame him for thinking that way.

Afghanistan is a no-go for any invading or occupying country. The terrain, population and culture will always be in favor of the Taliban.
