Its not my original idea. Its brought up for discussion. If you dont want to discuss it, you dont have to.

You’ll have to find someone more learned than I with whom to discuss it. To a plain old meat and potatos critter like me, it just seems pointless to try to imagine that God meant anything other than what the Word clearly says. If one is not careful they’ll find themselves doing what Revelation 22:18-19 warns not to do.
I think “higher criticism” of the Scriptures is what has brought our Nation to the sorry pass in which we find ourselves; where the Word has been watered down until it has no authority to guide the lives of so many Americans any more. So much so that sodomy is now the exalted, superior lifestyle, and anyone who is not enthusiastically in favor of destruction of unborn children in the womb and the selling of aborted body parts, is branded a hater and an enemy of women.
This stuff all started with an “innocent” questioning as to whether God really meant what He said in the Scriptures. The next step was questioning whether we need to give a crap even if He did mean what He said.
Concurrent with that, was the questioning and watering down of the clear intentions of our Founding Fathers to create a Country, a Nation, where the Judeo Christian God is exalted and revered, and where the Constitution and Bill of Rights meant what they say. So that now, our government has been so corrupted and distorted that Christianity, and our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ and any mention of His Name is being outlawed and debarred from our schools and public life. Thomas Jefferson has been used as the patsy for the so called separation of Church and State, using his bastardized and twisted letter as the pretext for it. Of course nothing is mentioned about the Church Services that were held in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, started at the behest of Jefferson, and the U.S. Marine Band providing the musical accompaniment for the singing of hymns, and continued to be carried on through decades after Jefferson. It’s all a matter of public record. Check it out.
If there was to be ANY wall between Church and State, it was clearly intended to operate in ONE direction only; to keep State from meddling in the affairs of any church. NOT to keep God and His precepts and teachings and influence out of the operations of Government. Exhibit-A: The simple, undisputable fact that from Day-1; from the deliberations of the Fathers leading up to the Revolution, to Inauguration Day for George Washington, and down through 2 centuries, the daily procedings of the Federal Government had been opened with reading of the Scriptures and with prayer. These practices included the SCOTUS, although that particular practice in the Court has devolved to a perfunctory, merely symbolic rite, as witness the heathen, godless decisions which have been rendered by the Court, especially over the past half-century.
While nowadays every other heathen belief system, especially islam, the incoherent ravings of a murderous, moongod worshipping pedophile, are promoted as the desired “religion” to the point where our children are being required to chant islamic statements in some of our schools around the Country. This all started with the “innocent” and “harmless” little freedom to question whether it was right, proper or desirable to have Bible reading and The Lord’s Prayer to open each day in our schools, as had been the rule and practice since their inception.
So no, I just don’t have an appetite for certain areas of discussion. Sports, politics, lifestyles, goverment....yes, in the right settings. But even on those subects, more heat than light is usually generated.
Happy trails.
So God did not confuse the languages at Babel? Or He did not throw the armies of the Midianites into confusion in Judges 7? How about when God sends a delusion at the end of times (2 Thes. 2:11). Isaiah 45:7 says God is the God of calamity and brings darkness. God is sovereign, He can do what He wants...
