When Cruz was on that Late Night Show he joked about that.
Something to the effect that running a campaign, he has had to shift to asking about money more.
“Hi I’m Ted Cruz. Nice tie. Can you please donate?”
“Hi - welcome. Can you donate $50 today?”
I could not agree more!
2nd Vet knows most about fund raising, but here’s probably why:
“Midnight marks the close of books for the October quarterly financial reports, which cover campaign disbursements and donations from July 1 to Sept. 30. And as is the case right before every big fundraising deadline, staffers and surrogates have been reaching out to supporters with increasing frequency, warning them of what is at stake for their candidate. Their reputation! Their competitive edge! The fate of the entire campaign! Many of the breathless pleas for cash struck notes of near desperation, while others pitched less doom and gloom. “
I’ll glady vote for most any of the GOP candidates over any DEM candidate. I’m voting Cruz in the primary and whoever the GOP candidate is in the general. I hope that’s Cruz, but if not, I refuse to let the dem win without a fight in the general.
You have me wrong, I like Cruz and donate money to him! But he will not be president even if he gets nominated. He doesn’t connect enough with people outside of us hard core politically aware people. Trump does, and a Trump/Cruz ticket is my dream ticket.
For me, it’s even more basic. Ted Cruz has made it clear that he understands that the reason we find ourselves in such dire circumstances is that is that more than a half of a century ago, we began to really turn our backs on God and His ways.
Good, I’m just saying that there is a process, and the game will play out. Cruz has really held his hand close and will go up in the polls when a few more squishes drop out and then people meet that Cruz guy...the one that the media, for some reason calls a ‘firebrand’?... Trump knows.
I have to confess that I don’t know anything about Ted Cruz’s home life. It would be hard not to know about Trump’s home life, and while some aspects of that might be quite “saleable” to many voters, one also has to wonder how things would go with a president who would be downsizing to move into the White House. And while his lovely wife is obviously not an airhead along the lines of any given celebrity one could name and defame, she is also a singularity like Trump himself, somebody entirely unlike anyone who previously found themselves in the role.
So, while many might think that Trump is the natural winner, I have to wonder at what point the voters might start looking more seriously at these natural questions, how would a flamboyant celebrity couple adapt to the sober duties of leading the free world?
Would it be impertinent to ask whether these questions have really had the full airing that they need at this stage where candidates are selected rather than followed into the general election?
By way of complete contrast, I don’t even know if there is a Mrs Cruz or any children — that’s how recently I was impressed by the sheer political question that he seemed to answer with his impressive comments in debates and interviews.
Same goes for most of this crowd and, you really have to wonder, why do prominent politicians feel that it is so necessary to drag their spouses along to various political events? Those people are not going to be sitting in on important policy discussions (Hillary Clinton was obviously a known exception). I really don’t care whether the candidates’ spouses have separate lives that occupy them, or nothing better to do than trot along behind the candidate trying to remember never to frown or look depressed. If my wife ever ran for office, she would tell me to stay way out of sight!! I’m only a normal person.
Oh to live in a country like Poland where a normal person can become a political leader or a pope.
You think Trump will win with a greater landslide than Reagan who won 49 states? And he is 100% guaranteed to win?
And you actually think it's Cruz supporters who are deluding themselves and not you? Lol!
