They are not the be all and end all. They make a ruling and then congress/President can choose to ignore or accept it. Judges are not the final word!

Some of the worst have been the federal district court judges slapping down the different states’ defense of marriage acts, even those passed by referendum, in order to effect “gay marriage”: and oxymoron if there ever was one.

This is rule by judicial diktat, following federal executive order fiat. Most of us have just about had our ration of this ........
