Enough are charged that SOMEONE should demand their Constitutional right to a speedy trial. Heading toward half a year with vague charges and no evidence indicates they’re trying to concoct an elaborate justification for the incident. Should someone demand “charge me for real, evidence included, or let me go” they may avoid the unlimited-budget convict-at-all-costs attack being prepared, and help show others the way out too.

I also think there were Undercover heavily involved in this, which may be what started the whole thing.

Oh the hyperbole....really???? This was neither a massacre nor really of any concern to most folks.

Nasty MC members got caught up in the nonsense that 1% always get caught up in. Guess what? I am about as sympathetic as if you told me that the Mafia got shot up

I don’t pretend to know what did or did not happen and agree that there are some concerns about what occurred afterwards.

With that said - I would ask you to agree that even attending such an event hosted by a group like that is a defacto sign of support for a criminal organization. You can’t have it both ways.

I would not go to a Crips or Bloods BBQ or get-together - would you? If I did, would FReepers advocating the side of the bikers be sympathetic if I was accidently shot or laugh and say I got what I deserved? Honest question that deserves and honest answer.

While I share the constitutional due process concerns of many who have posted about this here on FR, I do not share their apparent opinion that everyone is completely innocent. The “hosts” and the other gang that showed up are purely criminal organizations. I would not belong to any “club” that associated with such an organization (in any way) because at some point my participation becomes consent or support.

So you are good with government violating a person’s rights as long as the person is someone you don’t like.

Well stated and far more succinct than my analogy although there are some due process concerns -

MC aren’t all criminal organizations. Many are and many aren’t. But that’s for the gov’t to prove in a court of law. It doesn’t give them the right to kill people for being part of the MC just because they think they may be doing illegal things.

Do you want unwise to be illegal?

Do unwise choices merit forfeit of due process and constitutional rights?

The two main groups that caused this conflict are purely criminal organizations. If you disagree than further discussion is pointless.

I think there are concerns with due process that arose out of this nasty incident - but I (and probably many others) will still assert that the majority of the blame lies with the bikers either through direct participation in a criminal organization or indirect support of such an organization.

Insert Crip’s or Blood’s instead of an OMG name and read all the postings.....

Nobody has been charged. Texas law allows arrest and detention on an accusation only (this is common), with upwards of six months between that, and being charged. Of course, a person can be investigated and charged before being first arrested.

The procedure of having a judge review the evidence state in the warrant is supposed to weed out arrest without probable cause; with examining trials being a backstop in case the magistrate judge is a rubberstamp. It appears Texas law allows "probable cause" without evidence anyway, as the statute has a "magic words" provision.

A good number of the accused have been trying to get out from under the cloud of arrest, using more than one legal path. All the judges encountered so far say probable cause exists, based on the statements in the cookie cutter affidavit.

To its inerasable shame, the Waco Tribune-Herald has not noticed the coverup.

One of the tv news stations had a pledge of sorts on it's FB page that they were totally in support of the LEOs and asking for people to pledge/like them. Talk about unfair and unbalanced.

Undercover heavily involved in this, which may be what started the whole thing.

Bingo. "They" instigated the whole thing or why else would they have been all over the parking lot and roof tops waiting for the signal.

The two main groups that caused this conflict are purely criminal organizations.

Group 1 = BATF and Group 2 = Waco Sheriff's Dept.

For those who need to get up to speed on that. Same identical affidavit with only then names changed x 177.

I am doing OK thanks to my dear husband and the dear Lord (they often work together). Minor surgery tomorrow to have a stent --- and maybe also a stone --- taken out of my ureter (ouch).

Sorry for the TMI. Thank you for kindly caring.
