Making excuses is saying that what he did was wrong, that he was "out of control." making excuses is convicting him when he he performed correctly. It's saying, "yeah, he was out of control but..." It is saying of the man falsely accused of stealing money that,"his children were hungry so his theft would be understandable." Once you say that in defense of the man it no longer matters what the actual facts are. You are saying he is guilty but he had an excuse. When friends like these...

I didn’t say he did anything wrong, just that he was at the edge of proper conduct. I’ve worked with guys like him, exactly the kind of aggressiveness you want in certain situations, but also often prone to escalate something beyond where it necessarily has to go. That said, he technically did nothing wrong, just reacted in a different way than I or others would have. Cops aren’t robots.

I completely disagree (and am in fact disgusted) with the way they are throwing him under the bus, however even he appears to grasp the political impossibility of the situation and is acquiescing in his fate. Giving the full context of what his day was like is perfectly legitimate in order to try to mitigate the fallout. Of course, I’d prefer that they circle the wagons around him and go on the offensive against the black terrorist mobs. I’ve written extensively on that overall topic. But here’s my cynical prescription:

Sorry, but you like Al Sharpton are erring in making this a racial thing. I do think it is sad when people on FreeRepublic both side with Sharpton and miss the Freedom aspect of the name of this site.

We, the American people, are tired of these people just being the baddest street gang out there rather than protecting and serving. We are tired of these guys shooting our animals. We are tired of these guys thinking we that pay their salaries must tiptoe around them. We are tired of them stealing from us via civil forfeiture. We are tired of no knock warrants. We are tired of them shooting the incredible number of their fellow citizens they shoot every year.

Overall were are tired of our police thinking they are apart and better than us. The police better adjust or things are going to get worse.

I believe that widespread black criminality, black mob violence, and racial strife in our society are much bigger problems than abuses by police.

It is only a bigger problem if other blacks want a lower crime rate enough to help reduce it via both governmental and social pressure. Blacks are afterall the vast majority of victims of black criminality.

Tell that to the thousands of white women who are raped by blacks every year, to the business owners where endless shoplifting and flash-robs take place, the whites who have the homes and cars broken into, the whites and white males who are denied jobs and college admissions, the whites afraid to enjoy their city streets and parks and sights because of the threat from marauding blacks, the white schoolteachers attacked and facing daily abuse from blacks...the general coarsening of our society, bankrupting of our social services and entitlement programs, corruption of our youth by rap/hip-hop culture....much of the problem is not tabulated in official crime statistics. Overall it is far bigger a problem than police abuses.

Over 50% of all the violent crime and murder in our country is done by young black males, comprising less than 3% of our population — yet you say police abuses are a bigger problem? I think not.

I am always naturally more concerned with what someone is doing in my name rather than what others that I am not responsible are doing. That just seems like human nature to me.
