So, what is the practical affect of this? Do we now drink 10 glasses of milk a day?

I take 5000 IU a day for three years and I rarely get sick and the few times I did catch something, it was very mild and maybe lasted a day..
I swear by the stuff...

Not unless you want to look like an Orca-vitamin D supplement tablets are inexpensive-I’ve ingested 6-7000 IU daily for years.

I take a supplement in the winter because I live in the north ...but as soon as the weather allows I spend as much time as possible outdoors..
Also people need to cut back on sunscreens.. they block the positive effect of the sun..

Are they talking about Vitamin D3? I was thinking about boosting my intake, but it looks like I may have to increase the intake much more than I thought!

Me too (D3)—at my doctor’s recommendation. Lab test of D levels in the blood is now part of routine annual physical exams for many physicians. Low D levels are common.

This intake is well below the upper level intake specified by IOM as safe for teens and adults, 10,000 IU/day, Garland said. For how long now? You've suffered no ill effects?
