Back in the 70s around Houston a woman would stop on the side of the road in a remote area and pretend she was having mechanical problems. If a single man stopped, her boyfriend would come out of the bushes and rob the guy. It happened a lot. I don’t know if they ever caught them.

I have see parent apologise for their child in these sort of circumstances, but it is rare.
