So what you are saying is; place a camera on a bad cop and in time he will forget he has it on.

“And this is just one we hear about. How many more were never recovered clips, or never recorded at all?”

Ya, well remember that they even managed to delete the video he captured. Now anyone else would go down for destruction of evidence, I believe destruction of digital property is still a crime since it does have value, on and on.
Cop? Good luck getting the pigs in charge to go after any charges.

What people who support cops without question forget, is that cops are the ones who control any evidence of a bad event. Simply put, it is very hard to catch criminal cops because they have full control over the situation and evidence. If not the cop in question, then the initial investigators are his own people.

Speaking of his own people. Remember that there are only a ‘few’ bad apples? Then how come when these events happen, there are only bad apples present? Why is there never a ‘good’ cop there arresting the bad ones?
Remember that cop who slapped a guy over refusing to allow a voluntary search of his car, after verbally abusing the suspects? Three cops, two of which watched the event.
Then there is this one http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3228539/posts
Do you suppose for one moment that all those cops where blind to what really happened? Or is it more likely that all those cops knew he killed his ex-wife and were perfectly willing to let him get away with it, or even help him. Note, only the murdering cop was charged, not one of the other officers faced the music for helping him.

Only two possibilities exist here. Either there are so few good cops, that they are incapable of controlling the bad cops. Or the ‘good’ cops have no problem with the bad cops among them. Thin Blue Line trumps right and wrong.

“Not going to take sides here, but note that “Photography Is Not A Crime” is an activist group with an axe to grind. Don’t assume that all the facts of the situation are exactly as is claimed here.”

The same can be said for cops. They clearly have a ‘dog in the fight’ in any situation. That dog is their own authority, power, and responsibility.

You can’t look at one side and say they have an axe to grind, maybe even legitimately and fully correct about their grievance, and not look at the axe the other side has.

And good luck getting Levin to be honest on cops. He ends his show with an endless tirade worshiping them.

I know. It is one of the few areas I disagree with him and others on.(Note, if you didn’t, my name) Yes, cops should be honored for the good things. But that doesn’t mean ignoring the bad. And the bad gets worse as cops openly get away with it. That will come to a head. Sic semper tyrannis isn’t just a historical quote, it is a basic truth. Eventually, you push too far.

But there are reasons he might not deal with the issue. First, maybe he just isn’t really aware of the things cops do that are wrong. Hard to believe it, as he is reasonably intelligent, but ignorance isn’t the same as stupidity.

Second, no one can face every issue in life. Each person has their own personal dragons to slay, and someone else has to face the other dragons. And let’s face it his dragon is more against statist politicians.

Third, he is first and foremost a business man with a show to run. It would be a lot harder for him to make that work while criticizing cops. Add to that, the mindless ‘conservatives’ that would attack him for questioning cops. In too many minds, cops only are a problem for the bad guys. That ignores all the innocent people cops harm, most of which barely make the news.

Fourth, most of the talk show guys ignore this issue. That probably has a lot to do with the stations and producers of their shows. Most of which don’t find it beneficial for their business to openly attack LE.

Oh, absolutely. Which is why I say that ideally there would be some independent verification of claims made. A press release put out by the PD should be given just as much scrutiny and similarly require corroboration before simply being accepted as the whole story.
