Prayers up. This is very sad.
No! Sorry.
Prayers for your daughter. I hope they put that husky down. I had a wonderful Golden Retriever (a rescue) named Max. The ONLY dog he did not get along with was a husky at dog training that attacked him. The husky was banished until the owner could learn to control it, but she never forgave my dog and continued to blame my dog who just stood there and “took” it.
When the husky finally came back to class, my Golden bristled every time he saw him. My dog was perfectly friendly with every other dog at that school, even the ones who were not known to be manageable. But, NEVER the husky.
IMHO, dogs that bite humans and other dogs without provocation should be eliminated from this planet.
Praying for your daughter.
If the owner of the husky on the loose were to be sued, Molly would not get much of a judgement. Saw that on an episode of Judge Judy once.
I agree that a person should be able to walk their dog on a leash without fear of such incidents happening. On this short dead end street which I live on, too many people let their dogs run loose. There have been too many occasions in which my leashed chihuahua has been charged at by a loose canine or too. Had to call the police on more than one occasion and don’t like taking those walks too often.
Oh my gosh, sick to my stomach reading this... prayers for your daughter, can’t imagine how bad she feels.
Unfortunately that is less true everywhere these days... gave up walking my lil girl because I was tired of picking her up constantly and hoping we would not get mauled by the loose dogs around. Sis-in-law gave up her daily walks lately as gang-bangers moved into the neighborhood, and their pit bulls are constantly on the loose. many neighbors contacted police, but they are still running around...
How awful! the poor little dog and your poor daughter to have been there.
I worry about that happening with my five pound yorkie. These little guys are defenseless.
I think I’ll practice my aim and get a CCW.
We lost a JRT to something toxic in our yard, I suspect it was a moldy mushroom. Her liver was destroyed by an Aflatoxin (something moldy). It took her 3 weeks to die even after several vets tried to save her. Broke my heart. Getting another one was all that saved me from a broken heart.
Thank you all for your wonderful comments and prayers!
My daughter is doing a little better. Her boyfriend has been a real champ in this which is good because if I had been there in L.A. instead of N. Idaho that husky would be laying in a puddle of its own brains.
I told my daughter that she needs to be spending her energy on love for a new dog rather than grief for her dead puppy. She is looking at some new prospects and she has found some real Pomeranian cuties. They aren’t cheap but I told her that my wife and I would help her with the cost.
Sushi was a BIG part of our extended family. Every time she came to visit the farm she was overjoyed at being able to be a REAL dog. My favorite memory was seeing all 5 lbs. of her running with her head held high carrying a big old horse turd in her mouth. Poms are really cute and foo-foo but they are still dogs. That’s what I love about them.
Again, thank you all. I sent this thread to Molly today and she was overcome by the love she felt from my Free Republic comrades. Carry on.
Woof!
“I think Ill practice my aim and get a CCW.”
Good idea. With the increase in publik skool educated meth head morons and their pit bulls we need to be able to clean up the shallow end of the gene pool.
And be ready when CWII comes.
We just got two Bernese puppies, 8 weeks old. They will help soothe the pain, let the healing begin.
Excellent! Pictures please? :)
I wish I knew how to insert pictures in the reply....never learned.
Same with me. :)
Oh no — so very sorry, that’s unimaginable. Prayers to your daughter.
