Obviously you are more interested in arguing with me than understanding my position. You completely fail to understand anything I am saying.
Wrong. I understand exactly what you’re saying.
The reason that there *IS* a society is because for generations men and woman have paired up, committed to each other, and had babies, whom they then raised to adulthood.
I’ll say what Mr. Foxwell is perhaps too polite to say: lifetime single people are not full members of society. In the most blunt and obvious way they are not contributing to the future of the society. If everyone took the lifetime single approach the society would end in one generation. If enough people take it the replacement rate goes negative, and the society starts shrinking.
It’s a social truism that nature hates a vacuum. If a country has shrinking demograpahics it’s most likely it will import immigrants to keep things going. The alternative, true population collapse, is seen in places like Detroit. 1/2 a million unneeded housing units. Every other building is surplus, then in ruin. An infrastructure built for 1 million supporting only 1/2 a million is a burden.
The basic duty of humans to their society (and humanity, for that matter) is to propagate. Ancillary to this is to create useful quality humans who will not be a burden on the rest. Not everyone is capable of meeting these goals. But we do (or did) acknowledge the importance of them (with, for instance the tax code).
I’ve noticed this among my friends. Most of the single people don’t think much about politics, and are reflex leftists. A lot of issues don’t bother them. They have a very finite horizon for politics: their own old age. Good is “what’s good for me” not “what’s good in the long run, for my grandkids and their kids.
“The West” is dying (and Japan, too) because too many individuals reject their duty to propagate. There can be no great America without great Americans. The traditional way of having more great Americans is to make them. We have supplimented this with import and raise the next generation, but now we are just trying to go all import. Like France with the Muslims. It will fail in every case.
Japan is trying to do without the society destroying mass immigration, but still don’t have replacement level population growth. It will be interesting to see how they fare, but it’s still hard to see it working out.
Again, I’m not saying any individual made the wrong choice, but in aggregate millions making that choice are wrong.
If you understood me you would not be accusing me. You would be in total agreement.
Well said. I’ll add, couples that reject babies are society loads.
Thank you Jack. You are absolutely correct.
The failure of a substantial portion of the nation’s community to bear, raise and work for the future of their progeny destroys the foundation of culture.
The future is important because of our children. Those who have no children have no personal intense concern for a future beyond themselves.
