Prior to retirement I was a service tech, often called to inner city convenience stores. That piece, nestled in my “tool vest” was, at the very least, very comforting. Not to mention that any carjacking attempt can be thwarted easily through the door if necessary.

...and regarding the .410, I agree and don’t often load them but I just enjoy the non-unitasker element. In practice, the .410 shot, 4 balls, had a very nice pattern at 30 feet.

i live in Michigan in the 1950s and some of my friend would hunt with a 410 shot gun and carry 4440 slug in their pocket

To be fair, we do not know if they impounded or confiscted the firearm. It would be worth knowing, though.
