And you are willfully dancing around the fact that the establishment GOP of his day were not anti-American/Liberal supporting idiots.

The Democrats of Reagan’s day were far right of today’s GOP. That is a fact. Look that up while you are reeducating yourself on Reagan’s history.

But you know what has never changed? The principles of the Founders and of Conservatism. And for anyone to come among supposedly fellow conservatives and tell us that a guy like Mitch stands for the same things as Reagan is absurd.

What’s that you say? You never said that about Mitch and the crew? that I just put words in your mouth?

Well guess what. You would be correct. You didn’t say it. But you implied it. Either way it’s complete crap because they don’t. You yourself admitted it earlier refusing to defend them on their actions. So you have a dilemma here as well.

How is it you can in Orwellian manner, hold to diametrically opposed positions and believe both to be true?

If they do not share Reagan’s conservatism, and Reagan left the last party that abandoned conservative values, how can you ALSO believe he would stand in support and help reelect the very people he himself opposes?

Not when winning means all the dem policies passed by Republicans, no.

I cannot believe this is even an option for a conservative. You WANT liberal republicans in power no matter the cost and are shocked when you are opposed?

Reagan contended with them to get the nomination, but once he was President he wasn’t trying to unseat them. Nixon tried something like that and it backfired. Reagan was the “11th Commandment” guy who worked with Republicans even if they didn’t agree with him about everything.

So you’re saying Mitch McConnell is some sort of anti-American liberal. That is delusional. He’s an establishment guy, yes, but he’s not that.

And I’m not saying Reagan would have liked or agreed with McConnell. I’m saying that Reagan was in touch enough with reality to understand that politics is a messy and complex game, and that choices between lesser evils do have to be made. I don’t think he would hesitate for a second if given the choice between a liberal Democrat and Mitch McConnell in a general election where the Senate majority was possibly at stake.

Well his record indicates otherwise. He left a party rather than support people like Mitch.

BTW, what do you call a guy that demands amnesty for illegals against the wishes of his constituents and the laws of his nation if not anti American and liberal? What exactly?

Because ignoring your base to side with Democrats is in fact a liberal action and ignoring the borders you took an oath to protect in order to help your Democrat friends stay in power is most assuredly anti American.

So you agree with taking out Republican senators in general elections?

No, I agree with not voting for Senators in general elections who lie with Democrats. If you are talking about McConnell, he has made it quite clear what he thinks of my vote. So it shouldn't be an issue for you.

NOOO!!! you must situationally apply your ethics like a liberal and self justify electing those that hate you for the good of America because it is good when a Republican does liberal things and damages the foundation of our republic but bad when a dem does it cuZ stuff!

Don’t you understand? We can only win if we abandon what we believe in so it is better that we live as liberal democrats with no principle than stand as men and perhaps lose.

Duly noted. Sadly, 'winning' in this case is defined as nothing beyond Mitch McConnell maintaining his status as a member of the Most Exclusive Club in the country - the US Senate. Which is also why McConnell is looking out for fellow Club Member Thad Cochran. It has nothing at all to do with the future of a Nation. It has everything to do with their elitist country club egos.

Mitch McConnell has a disease for which there is no cure. And as best as I can tell, there are at least 95 other Senators that share that disease.

Mitch McConnell was the critical cloture vote to give Obama unlimited authority to borrow money.

Sounds pretty un-American and liberal to me.

Some folks would call it 'treason'. Yet we're supposed to support him because of the letter that follows his name? Sounds just like what Democrats do.

Agreed. The problem IMO isn’t so much them as it is the people that put them there willfully.

To be clear, YES they are a huge problem. But if it wasn’t for the people who put them in power, they would not be in power. So ultimately it is the fault of the voter...thus the phrase “You get the government you deserve”.

I don’t know how it is that people on the right cannot see the damage they are doing to themselves by electing these idiots. Dem, Repub...doesn’t matter. Evil is evil. Damage is damage. They truly are one party now and their platform is about ridding America of America.

Well, when people finally can’t deny that they each personally gave up their country anymore I hope they enjoy what their actions created.

Don’t you have it exactly backwards?

Aren’t the idiots the ones who allow themselves to be deceived, taken advantage of and robbed by their own political leaders?

Are you able to arrange the commonly shared symbols of meaning in such a way which even minimally defends your assertion that citizens should allow the perpetual existence of a permanent political class?

Aren’t the idiots the ones who embrace an ideology which by its very nature cannot survive exposure to the light of truth?

You know the whole liberal line of thought that says Christianity would collapse if aliens landed on the White House lawn?

What we see here is a real version of that playing out. The aliens of truth, the fact that the Cantors/Mitches ect are utter frauds, and Democrats with no D, has caused the life’s belief of the politically faithful to collapse.

But they cannot admit it without their entire belief structure collapsing with it. They are too invested in it. So we get the stages of grief. Anger, bargaining...all of it.

Anything but simply admitting the truth slapping them silly by the day, the hour even, and dealing with it accordingly.
