It's like feeding one person ... doesn't "solve" hunger, but you feed one person. Don't . . . say it . . .

What do you think?
I say the school wanted the money. They were pretty damn sure no silk purse was coming from “that” sow’s ear.

They do in Texas. A second grader in DH’s class today asked if he could write his answers in cursive.

I don’t believe for a second that she reads on a 12th grade level.

They taught my kids cursive, frankly I don’t know how you could ever go back to writing the old way once you learn cursive.

Unfortunately likely...though generally these lawyers soon step aside once they’ve lost traction in the press.

To be fair, cursive belongs in the historic languages curriculum with Latin, Greek, and Hebrew. It is useful for reading historic documents in their original former but there is no place for it in business or science.

I still write out notes and lists in long hand. Guess I’m a throwback.
To: Former Proud Canadian
“Probably not. They don’t teach it in school anymore.”
More importantly, unless you plan on being a highly-paid calligrapher, it won’t earn you a living, either.
I actually do give her credit for graduating - she really was to a large degree, a victim of her environment - an environment built by Democrats with Republican money.

Actually, I do - on a present-day 12th grade level. This equates roughly to a seventh grade level in 1969 :(

And she’ll probably have 6 kids by 5 different fathers by the time she’s 30 anyway for us to support.

People who grew up with horses still rode them for travel well into the automotive age.
I still have a manual typewriter, even though it is hard to find ribbons. And five book cases (pared way down from before) even though I mostly buy ebony now.
I might have a couple vinyl records and some cassettes.
