Mrs. Joe's ancestors were pretty well feared for their ability to make fillet of captive (while the captive was protesting, of course)...

Tough to do that with a firearm...

But, by all means, don't get the hoplophobes started on edged weaponry, or we'll be carving our steaks with plastic butter knives.

I have always had an innate fear of swords and machetes at least in the couple of times an idiot was playing with them near me.

I have no fear of a sword or a machete.

I am, however, ever wary of idiots. They can do incredible damage with even the most commonplace and mundane items.

Usually a 4” serrated edge.
