.... the incomparable They Were Expendable....One of my favorite John Ford / John Wayne collaborations. Robert Montgomery was great too ... and he was fresh out of the Navy (as was Ford...).

One of my favorites as well, in spite of the cheap model work.
Still...”Donovan’s Reef” will always be on top of my list, mainly because I want to live on that island in the sun :)

I was surprised the other day when I was watching “The Breaking Point” (1950) with John Garfield, that Sherry Jackson played one of the young daughters. Didn’t know she went that far back as a child actress, pre-Danny Thomas.
I recall the grown-up Jackson looking quite stunning in a “Wild Wild West” episode that dated from the same time-frame as her more well-known “Star Trek” appearance.

I watched The Quiet Man for the first time in decades the other day.
I forgot how stunning Maureen O’Hara was in the day.

Trouble Along the Way a favorite for me, but not for Wayne, Charles Coburn or Donna Reed. Sherry Jackson as Wayne's young, wisecracking daughter steals the movie. And Google images of Sherry after she matured -- a real beauty. Unfortunately she became typecast as the brunette bombshell in bad pictures. From an episode of Star Trek some may recall:
She makes the picture for me too. She's so damn adorable and funny. Wow, she did grow up to be a real beauty. I've seen that episode of Star Trek many times.
