Just come to Colorado to find this out. Our idiots in State Congress are leading the way in hypocrisy and corruption, led by Gov. Hickencrapper

I despise breathing cigarette smoke.

No problem with that.

I also despise having to pay higher insurance rates in order to cover smoking-related diseases.

Smokers have long paid higher insurance premiums than non-smokers.

But I support the freedom of others to make the choice whether or not to smoke.

As do I.

(Just don’t force me to breathe it or pay for it.)

You never have been forced to do either.

I’d prefer that people choose not to smoke, but I’d prefer even more that the government get out of our private lives.

You won't get an argument from me.

Why are libs “pro-choice” on abortion, but not pro-choice on smoking?

Because they have a misconstrued definition of the word "choice."

And can you imagine the uproar if tattoos and piercings were banned (in the interest of health, of course)?

Uproar over proposed bans on such things come from all sides of the political spectrum.

You need to do more research. Lifetime healthcare costs are actually lower for smokers than non smokers.

They die at a younger age, and healthcare costs skyrocket for older Americans.

So, your lifetime healthcare costs to the system will be more than for the average smoker.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius pledged in an op-ed on Friday that her administration was working “to make the next generation tobacco-free.”

So, then, what about all of those tobacco taxes that states depend on?

And thus, it begins.

Please note that nowhere in what is posted does it state any cause or reason for the FDA to act. Still, does it matter? The FDA has no authority over free men... see the post with the Mountain Man owning the judge.

“We’ve come to the conclusion that cigarettes have no place in a setting where health care is being delivered,” said CVS Caremark CEO Larry Merlo.

By climbing into bed with the evil ones in DC CVS has signed
their own death warrant. Now that they have given the gov
a foot in the door next will be alcohol sales, then soda, then god only knows what product the gov will tell them they can’t sell “because it’s bad”....won’t be long before
CVS is belly up. Sell their stock NOW if you own some before it tanks.

I apologize for not responding sooner and in private. Some things completely appall me. In those instances, without any ability to offer more than a cyber hug, I stand silent.

25 Nothing’s more destructive to freedom than a liberal with so-called ‘good intentions’

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” C.S. I never knew CVS sold booze.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

CVS is nothing more than a grocery/personal items store. The pharmacy is secondary.

The amount of space allotted to beauty items is astonishing.

LOL. But will they sell pot in Colorado? I understand people don't like smoke. But pot smoke is perfectly fine. /s.

When I was in college I lived in a apt building where I had to stick towels under my door to keep me and my cat from getting a contact buzz.

Don’t ever smoke Tobacco. There are over 4,000 chemicals in Tobacco smoke and at least 69 of those chemicals are known to cause cancer. And, nicotine is in itself a natural insecticide.

Do smoke pot. Cannabis has about 4,000 of the same chemicals as Tobacco. However, there is an effort to make Cannabis a cure for cancer. A cure for cancer has been sought for a long time. So, we will wait for a cure for cancer through pot. While we wait, we get stupid.

Is there a cure for stupid?

They are promoting marijuana use through their pimps like Morgan and Morgan in Orlando, Florida and are cracking down on tobacco.

Tobacco stores will enjoy the increase in their profits as ‘other’ stores are shifting away from selling cigaretts.
