I have seen large airport fire trucks that have the steering wheel in the center of the cab. This allows firefighters to exit on both sides of the truck. But what is the advantage of driving a truck on streets and highways with the steering wheel in the center?
I learned to back up a trailer in 5 minutes, when I was 19. Now age and arthritis have caught up with me, and I have had to learn all over again, using mirrors. It has taken two years, and I still don't have it right all of the time.
This vehicle appears to rely on cameras and monitors, rather than mirrors. I believe the learning curve on this would be closer to 5 minutes, rather than 2 years.
Wrightspeeds Route HD? New Zealander Ian Wright once associated with Tesla?
“..yeah but i dont like the way you think..”
I thought you guys were so big into tolerance. Apparently, you missed that part.
Meanwhile, Walmart spends zero money in cleaning its stores or training it’s rude service reps.
Center mounted steering makes sense on those trucks

A few years back when ‘they’ were raising hell about cell phones, eating while driving, drinking (coffee or soda) while driving etc I had mused that the modernest car would be reminiscent of the old Stage Coach with the drivers compartment being big enough to handle one person, nothing in it but essential controls.
The driver would have had his compartment in the middle of the now windshield area and the passengers with radio etc would be in the compartment behind him.....
Just like the Stage Coaches BUT you can bet your bippy ‘the shotgun’ would not be allowed.
