I know church can sometimes give us negative experiences. I’ve had a few of my own. The problem is, there’s no real exception to the rule, other than some authentic kind of disability:
Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, [25] not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
See, church isn’t really about what I like or dislike. It’s about being positioned to serve God and our brothers and sisters in the faith. There are real needs out there in the body of Christ, needs that you as a believer were uniquely gifted to help meet. God crafted your entire life up to this point with His own purposes in mind, purposes fulfilled in the way you personally “stir up love and good works” among the people He designed you to best help. You belong there.
Trust in God’s sovereignty was kindled by your words. Thank you!
So far we haven’t really needed much. We get discounts and such but haven’t had any medical problems to speak of. So we make the payments and get the benefit of being 0-bomb-a-scare exempt.
