This reminds me of a friend’s demented parents who told him they could “make Christmas disappear.” They were upset with him about something and threatened to stop Christmas.

We’re being governed by “Mommy Dearest.”

Good one. I keep hoping he has access to loaded weapons and can make history by offing himself, unstable as he is.

I don’t remember Park Rangers being so busy as now.

At least that’s the impression I get.

All highways in a state are owned by the state, regardless of designation. This includes US and Interstate highways. They may have federal funding, but the state owns them.

For all, resistance can be as simple as going to your closest barrycades and requiring a small bit of attention. When there, co-opt the law enforcers by asking them to join in with a sickout of their own. Disrupt, make them expend more resources.

0bama may be close to overplaying his hand, there’s a rage building ...

Building?

Check out the Healthcare.gov Facebook page comments.

The villagers have their pitchforks and torches out.

I am going to St. Louis next weekend. I guess I had better close my eyes when I come down the bluffs on I-55 so I don’t get a view of the Arch.

“...there’s a rage building ...”

.
That’s exactly what he is hoping will happen.

So far, all federal workers have followed his orders.

Can anyone tell me if to get to Mt. Rushmore one has to be on the Interstate, or is it a State route.

Frankly, I'm surprised that Barky and his minions haven't tried to close the entire interstate highway system!

Sorry, not satire at all - the article was written by a local paper (The Argus Leader) and posted by our Representative, Kristi Noem. The cones have been moved out of the way of the snowplows for now because of the blizzard, but they’re supposed to go back as soon as the highway’s cleared.

I would move barricades, get arrested for taking pictures, etc., but I don’t live around any of this, as I’m sure many
FReepers would. What do you suggest?

I am curious as to how much trouble I would get into for moving the cones every day?

“but I don’t see how any government goons could stop you from parking roadside.”

That’s exactly what the cones are for. I suppose you could drive over the cones, but they might get stuck under your car.

Unfortunately for me, I believe each and everything you just postulated. I know these conjectures can never be proven to a majority’s satisfaction, but, yes, I do think we’re being pushed and purchased into this sort of corner. I believe we can get out of it, but It’ll take strength of purpose and certain world rocking events to occur at the same time. I do feel there is a way out, not now, but in the next few years. This is a severe lesson we have been given as a nation for the learning.
