I know Burr is voting to fund, and then planning on leaving the Senate- and I bet he is looking at some great paying job in the industry.
We have been soft and elected people who don’t care about America.
And they are going to use us, no matter what we say. They aren’t being blackmailed, they are being bribed.
And we can’t really do anything about it- expect scare the pants off of them for the uncivil society they have created, by stealing our rights away from us.
Someday that will happen. But I think they are going to get way with it this time.
I pray not. I hope I am wrong.
There, fixed it.
How Obamacare is “affordable”
NOW:
Healthy 28 year old
$5,000 deductible
$31.00 per month
WITH OBAMACARE
Healthy 28 year old
$8,600 deductible
192.90 per month
What is the short message to send to RINO senators?
?”I want you to oppose any effort to amend the House Continuing resolution. Demand a vote on the House CR as written” ?
This tactic is as old as Harry Reid and then some.
It’s quite predictable.
The fact is that we have some good guys who really want to fight, but the 95% of the lot are only in this to save face and of course their seats.
I just hope Cruz doesn’t let them get away with being dishonest about it.
The nice thing is that Cruz won’t make it easy for his limp wristed colleagues. He will flat out make it clear where the line is drawn and how to tell which side an individual is on.
Usually they come of with some BS save face strategy where there is strength in numbers and messaging. They will try again as usual, but one real pain in the neck senator can really cause them some heartburn.
I’m with you Ted. God Speed!
Boehner could simply tell Reid not to bother with removing the funding restriction, as the House will NOT consider ANY continuing resolution or debt ceiling increase that fails to de-fund Obamacare. Boehner should also make that clear to Obama: If he wants his gov't funded, then Obamacare will be de-funded. Without the approval of the House nothing gets funded.
Let Obama, Reid, & the RINOs fuss & fume all they want, the House Pubs should stick to their principles. If not, the voters will find reps that will.
If there was ever a reason to shutdown gov’t, Obamacare is it.
True and Pretty clever too as the libs are demonizing it as trying to blow up the country This Exactly what I posted on this related Levin thread boasting about how this house bill was a big victory.
SOL explains exactly what the House CR is about (#17, September 18, 2013)
I also suggested where the ‘low hanging fruit’ was that the house GOP could go for, and on CSPAN today I heard them say the House GOP might do that.

Fight to win

THE BAD NEWS KEEPS COMING Reuters reports the US government on Wednesday scaled back its projections for Obamacare's impact in 2014, saying the law would generate slower healthcare spending growth and provide coverage to only half as many of America's uninsured as anticipated last year.
The biggest factor in the change stems from the U.S. Supreme Court verdict last year allowing each state to decide whether to expand the public Medicaid program for the poor under Obama's healthcare reform law. Republican leaders in nearly half of the nation's 50 states have rejected the expansion.
HHS now expects 11 million uninsured Americans to obtain coverage next year, down from about 22 million projected a year ago, according to the report, which appeared in the journal Health Affairs. (Excerpt) Read more at reuters.com ...

There's also lawsuits and state problems.
HERE'S HOW THEY'RE STOPPING OBAMACARE A West Virginia nonprofit has turned down a federal grant it received to help residents navigate new health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act after it received an inquiry from Attorney General Patrick Morrisey about how it would protect consumer information. Clarksburg-based West Virginia Parent Training Inc. did not respond to a letter it received from Morrisey directing it to answer 26 questions about the group's personnel and hiring practices, including employee background checks and employee monitoring programs, the Sunday Gazette-Mail (http://bit.ly/17M1QVe) reported. YOUR TURN--Contact your state AG---ask him/her to issue a letter of inquiry to groups receiving federal "Navigator" grants. The inquiry should center on questions WRT how the group intends to protect consumer data.
In particular, the questionnaire should ask if the tax-funded "Navigator" program intends to transfer personal/ financial/medical data of the insured to the local/county/national Democrat Party, relevant Unions, banks, investment companies, drug companies, insurance companies. Trial Lawyers' associations and whether "Navigators" have sub rosa contracts with these, and other groups, plan to profit, to provide significant info to enrich databases for pecuniary purposes. The AG also needs to confirm (1) whether the "navigator" was ever convicted of a felony....and....(2) whether the "navigator" can be bonded. Most importantly demand that your AG enforce the requirement that "Navigators" must have a state insurance license (consists of a comprehensive test on all aspects of insurance and compels a background check).

PLANNED PARENTHOOD WILL HAVE ACCESS TO SS#, TAX, MEDICAL INFORMATION
Breitbart Big Government ^ | 8/23/2013 | William Bigelow / FR Posted by markomalley
EXCERPT Planned Parenthood is about to obtain access to your Social Security number, tax form, bank account, and medical records.
With the advent of ObamaCare, consumers buying health insurance through health care exchanges will be required to speak to navigators. Navigators are supposed to help consumers find the best coverage and ascertain whether they are eligible for a federal subsidy.
Any navigator will have access to the federal data hub, which holds information from the Department of Health and Human Services, the IRS, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Defense Department, the Office of Personnel Management, the Veterans Health Administration, and the Peace Corps.
Planned Parenthood received $655,000 from the Obama administration to hire navigators. In Iowa, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland received $214,427; in Montana, Intermountain Planned Parenthood, Inc. got $295,604; and in New Hampshire, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England raked in $145,161.
And there is not much scrutiny over who these navigators will be; HHS will not require background checks or fingerprinting, and a previous criminal conviction, even if it was for identity theft , will not trigger a rejection. To make matters worse, the administration has cut the new employees training from 30 hours to 20 and reduced screening.

OKLAHOMA WINS FIRST OCARE BATTLE: Quoting AG Pruitt--- "Obamacare was meant to be so open-ended that it could mean anything. We are seeing thousands of pages of new rules being written, both by HHS and the IRS. The open-ended interpretation of Obamacare enables this.....if the law doesn't contain a particular provision, no problem. They just make it up as they go along."
"Such is the case that involves the OK lawsuit."
The court rejected the federal governments argument that Oklahoma lacked standing to challenge the law, allowing us to proceed with this pivotal case, Were optimistic the court will recognize what states have known for months that the IRS disregarded the law by making the large employer mandate effective in Oklahoma or in any of the 33 other states without a state health care exchange.
REFERENCE Oklahoma challenged implementation of the Affordable Care Act after the IRS finalized a rule that would allow the federal government to punish large employers, including local government, with millions of dollars in tax penalties in states without state health care exchanges, which is not allowed under the health care law.
Congress provided a choice for Oklahoma and other states in implementation of the health care law, and the IRS is attempting to take that away by rule, General Pruitt said. The administration miscalculated how many states would support this law, so now theyre using the IRS to push through provisions that Congress did not pass.

PROTECT YOURSELF---Obamacare is easy pickins for identity thieves. Steps to take to minimize risk of identity theft:
1. Contact the IRS Identity Protection Specialized Unit at 1-800-908-4490
2. Order a tax account transcript from the IRS that verifies basic personal data along with details of your tax return filed, which may come in handy if you are checking to see whether someone else filed a fraudulent return on your behalf
The Federal Trade Commission (link at website) also lists several steps you must take if you have been a victim of identity theft.

The old Republican Party Mantra: Always surrender before you fight for the Republic.
The New Republican Party Mantra: BRING IT !
“If Boehner & Co. in the House really wanted to stop Obamacare, they could do it WITHOUT the Senate. Boehner could simply tell Reid not to bother with removing the funding restriction, as the House will NOT consider ANY continuing resolution or debt ceiling increase that fails to de-fund Obamacare. Boehner should also make that clear to Obama: If he wants his gov’t funded, then Obamacare will be de-funded. Without the approval of the House nothing gets funded.”
Correctamundo, Mister Da, though some FReepers do not seem to grasp this basic point.
The House can defund ObamaCare by simply refusing to fund it. If the Senate fails to go along, it is not funded, period. Then it’s wait and see to find out who folds first. Something tells me Dirty Harry and Barry Soetoro can hold out longer in a Mexican standoff than the Weeper.
Should be called “RobertsCare.”
If this sh*t does go down, the GOP is FINISHED.
As in DONE.
As in OVER.
As in STICK A FORK IN IT.
As in FLUSH.
We are now so far beyond disgusted we are out of sight.
I guess we’ll have to see if what you say is true.
I for one, and alot of us here too, believe that Ted Cruz is going to make good his threat to filibuster if the Senate does this.
I also believe that the vast majority of Americans do not have a clue about this terrible law. ONce they experiece it, they will rebel, and they will demand it’s repeal.
The will remember that it was our side who tried to get it removed.
I don’t really see how this is totally bad, in fact, this is a process that will take many months to come to fruition.
Anyway IMO.
Keep in mind the writer above said the same thing that I posted.
I Saw Cruz on FNS.
It sounds like the Senate rules are such that Cruz and the others must filibuster the original House defund bill to keep Reid from removing the defund provision with 51 Senators votes.
That is the only way they can stop it with >=41 Senators,
then I assume they hold out till Reid puts up the House bill wo amendments, or at least requiring the 60 to amend it.
If He can stop Reid in Senate he will be the hero.
I think it’s shaping up how you say. I think it’s a great plan. I pray that Ted followes thru. Here’s why.
1. The MSM will be forced to cover it esp if he talks for more than 12 hrs, and finally hear the truth about what’s really going on in this country.
2. The American public will latch on to Cruz in a positive way, and see a distinct difference between our side and theirs.
3. Cruz will be able to debate with Obama indirectly, but Obama will be unable to explain away Cruz’ remarks. In fact, it will be the first time in my memory when someone can truly speak with clarity and conviction.
4. Americans will remember our position once Obamacare affects more and more Americans.
5. Americans will get a taste of Ted Cruz.
Maybe that’s the plan from the start. Did you ever hear the term, “Rope-A-Dope?” Relax.
Sounds good to me, hopefully he will round up a few more to do the same thing to make it last longer, Lee and Paul, and Rubio better be there too, he was one of the first to call for this fight.(which was probably just smoke)
As soon as I saw that Levin thread on the House CR it came to my mind that that vote will be used by many of them to cover a later House vote on another bill, like say a Reid Bill.
That is how Bohner got it passed with just GOP votes, except two Ds.
Then the finger pointing will be in all directions.
