I find that rather sexy myself, but that's just me....snicker...
Seriously though:
She decided it didnt handle as well as our full size XD9 and the XD fit in her purse just fine.
A weapon is a highly personal issue as far as I am concerned. What is comfortable to you may not be comfortable to me, though both choice are equally as good.
Bottom line is if your not comfortable with it, you won't have much confidence in it.....and as always, prayers we never have to use them!
I guess that’s why we have two pockets. :{)
>>This is an indoor range too....different rules for different ranges I guess?
Oh yeah. I’ve shot at indoor ranges where almost anything goes, as long as you do it safely. I’ve been to some that act like gun owners are criminals and won’t let you do anything.
I actually went to one where they stopped me at the door. Took my range bag and searched it, removed all the guns and started to tie-wrap them like a gun show. They were then going to take possession of the guns and bring them to me on the range one at a time.
They said that its the only way they can insure safety. I left.
Most gun battles at 7 feet or less, knife drills from 20 feet......
My town is very safe and the other place I go a lot, NYC, wont let me bring a gun, so I dont need one.
A gun is a lot like a parachute. If you need one and don’t have one you’ll never need one again.
Wow, I would have left too...probably ran!
Gun ranges here are strict when it come to adhering to safety rules, as they should be. The indoor range here that we go to used to allow shotguns but since some asses came in and abused the privilege, no more.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it only takes a few to screw it up for the rest of us, face it, there are a lot of idiots out there.
i’d like a social sanction for cops not to harass ccw or open carry folks.
also to take pics of a person’s gun used in self defense but letting the victim keep their damn gun instead of disarming them, and not giving them back easily or timely.
“also to take pics of a persons gun used in self defense but letting the victim keep their damn gun instead of disarming them, and not giving them back easily or timely.”
You tryin’ to make cops buy their guns instead of de facto confiscate ‘em?
no. i am saying that when a person defends themselvs with their gun, not to have the cops take it, but rather take pics of it for evidence, have the person sign something affirming that is their weapon and they used it. disarming them is unnecessary.
it’s like telling a rape victim she has to go home naked because they need her clothes as evidence.
A study showed that most shootings took place at 3 yards or less.
The 21 foot number is probably related to the 21 foot rule.
My wife is 60 and decided to get her concealed carry permit to exercize her 2nd amnedment rights. We have 10 grandchildren and she also decided that she will do whatever it takes to protect them.
Went to the range this weekend for her first shooting experience. I got her a .22 for starters. She loved it and can’t wait to go again. She is already talking about her next gun purchase and now sees why I have my arsenal. I love it....thank you Barry!!!!
Your wish is granted. It’s a matter of “familiarity breeds contempt”, or really “familiarity leads to disinterest.”
A great example is Arizona, where police truly do not give a hoot if someone is open or concealed carry. They pay attention to the person, not their tools. Of course, anyone foolish or insane enough to draw down on an AZ cop is most likely a dead man.
As far as taking a gun after the fact, for forensic purposes they almost have to. They need to do a gelatin test to insure that each and every slug they pull out of Tyrone he earned.
However, that being said, it’s a good reason to have a primary and alternate gun, in case one is “laid up in the shop”.
“I believe twenty-one feet is the criteria LE use........seems an odd number though.”
There’s a reason for that number. Lots of testing done. Result: A bad guy with a knife can close 21 feet in a little over two seconds.
A reasonably skilled shooter (skilled in holster work) can get off one or two good shots in that time when they are carrying on their hip. Most good guys (without holster training) cannot get their gun deployed, aimed and fired in anything close to two seconds. If it’s in a purse, it takes even longer than from a hip holster.
The smart ones, obviously. These times are so uncertain.
yes but many places make it very difficult to get your own gun back, and often it’s damaged by writing on it,etc.
I agree, and hope that they change their attitude with some polite nudging from the gun owning citizenry.
