Mucho thanks for the heads up. I’ll be 65 soon & my Dad once told me that sooner or later we guys are all going to check out either from prostate cancer or enlarged prostate.
I was just hoping to avoid further finger waves; the last one came from a retired BG, MC, Ret. working for OSHA who told me “you don’t enjoy getting a DR exam, you think I enjoy giving them!!?””
This was after he rammed the ol’ index finger where I least wanted it & I yelled, “OW!!! What are you doing up there, doc, TDY!!!?”
The needle he would fire through the rectal wall into your prostate 2 dozen times over the course of an hour will be worse than “OW”.
My dad had prostate cancer when he died, but he died of other causes. He told me he refused prostate surgery, because of the bad results a friend of his suffered from such surgery.
During my visit to my urologist last spring, he told me he had undergone a prostate biopsy recently, and apologized for bitching at me for flinching every time he fired the biopsy needle into my prostate during my two biopsies.
Thanks for the ping!
Thanks!
Biopsy needle? Geez...so much to look forward to in the `golden years’.
Just had my first colonoscopy but that was nothin’ in the hurt department. Open heart surgery wasn’t that big a deal either. Guess it’s back to my old Army doc whose name believe it or not is Dr. Cutting.
Better than Dr. Payne, I suppose.
My brother in law’s a doctor - his feeling is that lots of men get prostate cancer and they usually die of something else - something like old age...
