Sad about NASA but they’re PC yesterday and filled with government stupidity... Science is on the brink of tomorrow - machines inventing machines...

This is actually Kurzweil’s take. He calls it the singularity
You’ll want to read up on the guy. He is extremely bright and demonstrably knows of whence he speaks

Cant speak for Greenfield one way or the other
...........
Actually, I don’t know much about Greenfield but the tone and pattern of his thoughts suggests he doesn’t really understand the background religious culture that supported the legal culture into which his grandparents and parents made their way in America in the first part of the 20th century.
If thorium reactors are best they’ll be swept up in the exploding knowledge acceleration .

I tend to think you’re right. It’ll happen one way or the other and sooner rather than later.
Think about it. In just the last 5 years there have been two major technological revolutions. The fracking revolution in the oil patch and the hand held telephone revolution in the high tech sphere. Then there have been hundreds maybe thousands —of small technological innovations. Its unlikely that that pace will slow down here in the next five or ten years. That means new amazing stuff will likely come from unexpected corners of the tech world. Its not prudent to underestimate what’s coming.
Interesting - thanks for the link...
