I thought that some of you might like to read my first ever blog post. The Zimmerman case is so important - we could all be in his shoes. I would welcome any comments here or on my blog. If you haven't yet started reading through the daily threads regarding this case on Nettles' blog or the topical blogs on the Conservative Treehouse, Diwataman, or Stately McDaniel Manor, I highly recommend that you dive in and educate yourself on this case.

Do we know if the trial will be here in Central Florida?

So far there has been no motion for change of venue. I believe the trial will be in Seminole County.

I doubt if the trial is moved. Actually, GZ best bet is a Seminole County jury. Having sat on juries in Seminole before...GZ should be OK in this regard....unless the prosecution and judge have trucked in a jury from elsewhere.

It was easy for people, including reporters, to jump to the conclusion that a man named "Zimmerman" was white.

Yes I am in Seminole County...and really disappointed with the judges involved. Not all the Seminole judges are like Lester and Nelson...who obviously have been bought and paid by someone who wants Zimmerman in prison.

George Zimmerman has become the Gettysburg of the right to defend yourself with a firearm. Because Lee’s soldiers needed shoes, Gettysburg became famous. Because race hustlers wanted to cash in and the Government didn’t want riots, Zimmerman became famous.

The mainstream media has twisted the reality of the two principal players so badly that a return to the truth won’t be accepted by those who’ve swallowed the tall tale of Saint Skittle the Unarmed and George the Racist Vigilante

If it goes to trail, the real issue will be if the the Government need for order in the face of potential violent unrest trumps the individual right to life and liberty.

And if Zimmerman had displayed his firearm before the thug made physical contact with him, he would still be alive as well. He'd have run away.
