We will never, EVER, get “good press” on the gun issue—EVER.
Not DC, NYC, LA—not anywhere the MSM holds sway.
If you don’t conprehend this by now, stop reading; climb back into yur hole and forget it.
Unconstitutional laws are NOT LAWS. That’s why they are called “unconstitutional”.
We are most likely going to have to fight this one out, so let’s all pick a good time and place. After all, nobody is going to live forever—at least not on this ball of mud.
The REAL question should be is this the right place and time?
Agreed. This is an idea so bad it makes me think a Prog thought of it as a way to smear legal gun owners.
Incorrect.
Standing up and and voicing you concerns about your God given right’s does not make you a kook.
Do not be frightened into submission.
You are assuming that the permit mentions carrying pitchforks. All they would be doing is applying for a permit to march. Those that wanted to bring their farm implements would be no different than those who wanted to bring their wooden sticks with signs attached. I am not aware that gardening tools are illegal in DC.
Well, that is a problem. Walk it right up to the line and protest that the Law in DC is a false law.
Sage advice.
George Washington did not bring a thousand armed colonists over to England to protest gun confiscation on the steps of the Royal Pavilion. He and his troops carried them into conflict for but one purpose, to win a shooting war for independence. I think that is a good example to follow.
Furthermore, Kokesh has a history of making alliances with the extreme left, ostensibly to advance his political career. If I were ever somehow talked into using weapons in a symbolic gesture like this, it would NOT be under the leadership of this highly compromised individual. Period.
That was a pretty good story (I saw it the other day). The stunt described in the OP here is in blatant violation of the DC law, while the story you linked is about a guy doing something perfectly legal. I don’t think what they’re talking about doing would be legal if the guns were unloaded.
And be prepared to deal with the consequences if that pseudo-law is pseudo-breached and pseudo-enforced against you, with no good long term results. It’s the Patton thing. I hate to lose. Giving the left a great youtube video to promote gun control while losing my freedom and maybe my life, with absolutely no prospect of converting that particular situation into a real win? Not interested. Put me in Benghazi violating a top-level order to stand down because if I obey that order, American lives will needlessly be lost? That is a fight worth winning, and a danger worthy to accept, as the reasonable price of freedom.
Another important point about what the Michigan father did. He put his own butt on the line without trying to get others to do the same.
WE did and got The Kenyan, twice and Hillary's posterior is on the horizon as the successor to the destroy, loot and pillage dicta of the one world order.
Such an event is fine at capitols in open carry states but trying it in DC is begging for bad press.
We already have bad press from every leftist extremist "news" media operation in the country. That bad press has played a significant role in driving NRA membership from ±4.5 million to over 5 million in the past few months. This is supposed to be a problem because...?
I feel no obligation whatever to be polite to people who've declared their intention to reduce us to disarmed state serfdom.
“Standing up and and voicing you concerns about your God given rights”
HOW you choose to do that, makes a difference.
Marching to D.C. openly armed is STUPID!
But John Paul Jones` crew raided the pub in Whitehaven with several drinks which is the same thing as a 1000 man march on London.
BTW there are no geological restrictions on the Second Amendment, no matter who tells you what coz the SECOND AMENDMENT CANNOT BE RESTRICTED BY TIME, SPACE NOR TYRANNY.
What would some demonstrative march viewed as a threat do? Especially led by guy like Kokesh. It's inviting trouble - on government turf, on government terms. If I'm going to be leading a 1000 member march, instead of an armed march with loaded rifles, I'll be visiting the congressional offices.
What happens if "we" supposedly "win" the confrontation there? Nothing.
Best case scenario, media trouble, suburban soccer mom types scared. Worst case. Kokesh or one of his followers does something stupid to make a "point." This is the equivalent of George Tiller's ghost leading a pro-choice rally.
If there is God-forbid an armed confrontation, I'm making sure it is on my turf, on my terms, with my escape routes, and where I have the advantage.
It’s a leftist provocation to make gun owners look crazy.
The Libtards were horrified seeing these “mostly white men” carrying their (unloaded) Pistolas and whined to the Rats in Sacramento to do something.
Well, Open Carry was outlawed last year. Not for just handguns, but long guns as well. Being a Gun Owner here is akin to being a Jew in 1936 Berlin.
