This bombing was not against a US government facility, and therefore it can be concluded that “right wingers” as understood by the left, probably are not involved. There would be no gain from killing innocents, and only innocents, if the goal was to send some anti-government message, for right, OR left wing domestic malcontents.
Al-Qaida’s signature has never been remote detonation, they favor suicide bombings. The only bombing that I can think of that included remote detonation, that was blamed on Islamists, was the Spanish train bombings. I still am not sure about the conclusion there.
So, by process of elimination, this one seems like a retaliation, perhaps for the collateral innocents killed by American drones in the ME. Quite possibly it could have to do with either Iraq, Lybia, Egypt or Syria, if not Afghanistan. If a Saudi is involved, I doubt seriously it has to do with Saudi interests.
To me, all the evidence points toward a retaliation for what are perceived to be American misdeeds- the death of innocents abroad.
