HuffPo doesn’t like cities with a high black population.
Ariana chooses to reside in a community that has a less than .05% black population.

Don’t forget that Chicago also has Cominsky Field, home of big baseball fan Barry Obama’s beloved White Sox.

lol....this guy has his head up his rear. I had no preconceived notions the first time I went to each city. Chicago wasn’t bad, at all. Soon after entering Detroit, I grew a low, steady uneasiness in my stomach. It didn’t go away until Detroit was an hour in the rear-view mirror.

50 years ago, Detroit was twice the size of Toronto. Now Toronto is three times the size of Detroit. We just edged past Chicago population-wise, but the way things are going Chicago will go the way of Detroit.

Yes, Michigan is an open carry state.
Meet Rick Ector, Detroit firearms instructor and engineer. He was robbed in his own driveway....once.
He's a good follow on twitter.

About 10 years ago we went on a little vacation....involved staying near Detroit to go to the Henry Ford Museum, etc....the hotel we stayed in required us to sign a sheet saying if anyone complained about us, or we created a disturbance, we’d agree to leave. We found that VERY odd....until about 2am when we had to call the front desk and complain about the two women next door to us. Next thing...my husband is looking out the door peephole, and two of Detroits finest are standing outside their door, with guns, assisting in the “ladies” departure....THEN we understood the signing of the little sheet of paper....never have wanted to go back to Detroit.

Detroit has a defensive shooting rate something like 2200% higher than the national average and that’s falling. The old folks are taking a hell of a toll.
Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland walks some 15 blocks to Comerica park a couple times per week if the weather is nice.

Chicago was the greatest city in the country, from Frank Lloyd
Wright's early years up until Mike Royko in his heyday (1900-1970).
The stories from my grandfather and my father, as well as my own
in my formative years, describe America's heartland jewel. But
Chicago was absolutely ruined by Liberalism; it's a different place now.

It's very hip for lefties to like Detroit.
My niece is married to a Norwegian commie. He hates the US but says the only place he'd consider living here is Detroit.
According to them - "Great things are happening there"
Not joking.

Like it or not, business is moving into Detroit. Its mostly high tech and headquartering but it is moving there. When the new international crossing bridge is built there will be a lot of warehousing and freight related jobs to follow. Large electronics makers are finding it cheaper to ship components and assemble here. Most recently it was Samsung I believe that opened an assembly plant in Detroit to make air conditioners. I think it was Morgan Stanley that announced last week that they were opening an office in Detroit.

This clown is talking about Downtown Detroit, Greektown (part of Downtown), and maybe Wayne State. Those aren't bad areas and I feel generally safe there. Southwest (Corktown and Mexicantown) is rough in spots, but has it's good points. Indian Village and Palmer Park are where the rich live.
Then there's most of the rest of the city. If this guy wants to tout Detroit, he should walk down Gratiot past Eastern Market.......

ha! All probably true. But, this is a Norwegian communist Coming Insurrection sort of dude. I think he was most impressed with the jazz clubs and communal city gardens, crap like that. Oh, and places left to decay and return to nature.
