They always say LHO was a lousy shot conveniently leaving out the part about him being a Marine who worse shooter could probably best the ‘experts’ that couldn’t recreate the shot. Yet the shot was tested with people who really wanted to see if it was possible and then even used the Manlicher-Carcano and I don’t remember the results but they easily made the shots in the same amount of time. Unless you’ve done it, you might think it takes a lot of time to exercise the bolt action but it doesn’t.

The also show the current view from the 6th floor of TSBD and showing a tree obscuring the view neglecting to mention that trees probably do a lot of growing in 50 years.

Hell, we’ve got people who think the planes on 9/11 are holograms or the videos were faked. Conspiracies seem to attract a lot of whackos but they’re pretty funny. Even if the files show conclusively that LHO made the shot, people will still write books debunking it.

American Spectator had a book review a couple of months ago for this book:

It sounds like the Cubans had a lot to do with the assassination, & people from their intelligence agency are talking.

In his unit he did have a reputation for getting off a lot of “Maggie’s drawers” shots (a complete miss of the target).

What’s interesting in relation to the question is that Oswald was alleged to have attempted to kill Edwin Walker using the same weapon when Walker was sitting stationary in a chair at his (Walker’s) home from approx 100 ft away. The bullet missed, hitting a window frame instead. Kennedy was in a moving vehicle almost 3 times that distance.

OK, is this guy still alive and why? If LHO wanted him dead, he probably could have killed him. I mean, what happened? This guys kicking back at his house and a bullet whizzes by. I've heard of bad neighborhoods but this might make me rather alarmed. So LHO missed and that was then end of the attempt to kill the guy, were they friends afterwards?

So, I find this:

Edwin Walker JFK

Which has this:

"On April 10, 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald attempted to assassinate General Edwin Walker, a right- wing leader in Dallas with a high-powered rifle, after aborting a previous attempt on April 5th. The evidence of this assassination attempt includes the testimony of his wife, Marina Oswald, a note in his handwriting Russian describing what Marina should do, after the Walker shooting, if he were arrested, killed or had to go into hiding, photographs of Walker's house from the sniper's position taken by Oswald's camera and pasted into Oswald's scrapbook, and a Neutron Activation test that showed that the metallic elements found in the bullet that was recovered in Walker's home matched the ammunition used in Oswald's rifle in the assassination of Kennedy (This technology for this test, done in 1977, did not exist in 1963). Oswald had told a number of people he knew that someone should shoot Walker a month prior to the shooting, and, on April 5th, when he made his first attempt, he had Marina take a photograph of him dressed in black, armed to kill with a rifle and telescopic sight, and holding in his hand the radical newspaper, The Militant. Those who reportedly knew that he was a self-styled assassin include:

OK, so which was it? This excerpt says that they analyzed the ammo used against Walker and it matched the ammo used to murder JFK.

So, what is it?

1) LHO tried to kill Walker failed, gave up because he's an incompetent shot.

2) LHO then murders JFK using the same ammo (and apparently a lot of practice) that was found in Walker's window frame?

There seems to be a problem here.

I mean besides the fact that I'm being dragged down the conspiracy theory hole.

LOL, yeah, it can be like quicksand. Best anybody can do is to judge for themselves what rings true and what doesn’t, dump the chaff and ponder the wheat from all the hard info & the speculations.

One more thing on the weapon in question in the JFK murder. LEO officially identified the rifle found at the Texas Book Bldg as a 7.65 Mauser. It was only later that it was said to be instead a 6.5 mm Carcano Model 91/38.

That I have heard of. Which brings us to three conflicting stories much like 9/11.

1) The perps were evil geniuses.

2) The perps were idiots.

3) No, they were both and I'll throw in a gratuitous mention of Nixon being in Dallas that day and Bush #1 not recalling where he was that day.

Yeah, when people start off into weird scenarios rather than just looking at the misc. concrete facts, then they have some axe to grind. Not very helpful at all because you have to separate what’s of any value, if anything, and what is total junk. I don’t hold to conspiracies theories in general and the “TRUTH”-types can be a royal PITA for honest people who prefer to consider things seriously.

It wasn’t obvious to most people at that time, but Jack was getting pulled into the communist mindset.
