No thanks to Wesley Clark, we almost got into WW III with the Russians over Kosovo.

You don’t think this is already happening through our taxes?

Yeah, but it is convoluted.
The federal politicians wave some distraction around and make the people forget how pissed they are.

We have a few good tea party types that fight them at every corner but the people are so distracted they forget who is who.

Rick Perry and Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz, Louie Ghomert...

They are doing yoemans work.

The US is rapidly becoming the same, ever since we abandoned the “Melting Pot” for the “Tossed Salad” approach.

George Will wrote about this liberal Democrat scheme decades ago. The rise of "multi-culturalism" was, and remains, nothing less than an attempt to eradicate and replace American culture. See, there's no such thing as American culture - - no, America the home of a wide and varied bunch of diverse cultures.

The scumbag Democrats have been at this stuff - - the destruction of traditional America - - for a long, long time. The election of an America-hating African communist as president is just the natural result of the Democrats' relentless attack.

So, "celebrate diversity", just like they teach the kids in every government school from coast to coast.

“It is pretty tough for stoic bavarians and finnish types to embrace the “let your hair down and party” spanish and greek types.”

LOLOL!

I was stationed in Rota, Spain, while in the U.S.Navy. Huge numbers of Germans and Scandinavians would vacation in Rota every year, and I saw close-up the differences between the two cultures. Oh-boy! You’ve got it backwards.

The Spanish were very conservative compared to the northern Europeans. Of course this may have been due to the one group being on vacation in another nation. Granted, the Spanish are loud and boisterous while the northerners are quieter, but the Spanish weren’t laying out mostly naked on the beaches, either.

We would be mad as hell in Tx if we had to pay Ca debts, and we have no long time nationalist divisions.

Unfortunately, pork barrel politics has always been the game. California had some big national politicians in the 1930's, and got an infusion of federal money to fund building of two big bridges on SF Bay, among other big projects. Doesn't look like a debt, but it sucked a lot of money from elsewhere. In the 1960's, Phil Burton and brother John Burton sucked more money from Washington. Lately, it's been Pelosi and Feinstein sucking federal money into California, latest project is high-speed rail (including a billion dollar one mile tunnel in SF's Chinatown). So, in a way, Texas and other states are paying some California debts. You just can't easily see it.
