I ride wearing All The Gear All The Time (ATGATT). Its my choice. A ‘’stich and a full face.
I have gone down a couple of time, mostly low speed. Helment help there.
The armor and helmet also prevented me from opening a can of whoopass on a WalMart Loss Prevention idiot, since I knew there was no way he could harm me, even with the pepper sprap he was threatening me with.

Seems to me that the stats should include “old and slow” and “young and wild”. Seems to me there would be more accidents among the young low flyin’ rocket jocks than many of us who are out to enjoy bein’ in the wind.
Yeah, I’d ride around town without a helmet. Seems it would be safer out on the highway with one. I prefer my choice, not the government.
