The framers of the constitution were not stupid. The 2nd Amendment seves 2 purposes; protect the entire Bill of Rights; enable our ownership to the same level of sophisticated as our Government.

The 2nd Ammendment did not define the firearm, it protected it as a Constitutional Right, and the Supreme Court has upheld that right by saying the Framers had it right. The Right is there to keep the Government from taking our firearms, placing us on a train boxcar and sending us to a gas-chamber.
