Even rabid dogs 'don't deserve killing,' if we go by what the family and friends say.
Having experienced the wrong end road rage, I can assure everyone that race does not play a role. Road rage is road rage.
I am sure I am not the only driver who has been involved in a fender bender, and failed to rush the other driver's car, pounded on her window and tried to open the other driver's door. This nut deserved what he started by acting like an animal.
If I were on her jury, I would be totally on her side.
All based on the preliminary facts given. What is important and missing is the input from any witnesses (plural) to the event.
I agree with others. Self-defense is self-defense.
I do note that this was in daylight, in a public place with others present, and she was still inside her car so its not an exact equivalent to the more famous case.
So I’ll be curious to see how the investigation turns out.
While it may have been scary (it would have been for me at 23, no matter the color of those involved)the article does not lead me to believe it was a life threatening situation.
I dare say that the breakdown in race relations caused the fear this poor young woman felt, perhaps even the anger the white guy felt.
I hate to sound racist, but the closest calls I've had on the road recently in big Texas cities, were caused by black women drivers (I am white and a woman). The black women I've “encountered”; two of which, would have caused a major wreck if I had not been aware - didn't even bother to look when changing lanes - they just considered it their due to pull in front of a vehicle doing 70 MPH.
They gots rights after all.
This was cold blooded murder because of race, and by god she was
going to even the score taught to her though brainwashing from the Justice Brothers.
I never walk up to a vehicles window, even if there's an accident.
Let the police sort it out.
We Texans will show those idiots in Fla how justice is done.
It will be based on facts and not race.
RACE shouldn’t matter in self defense but here it likely will but in the opposite of usual
Houston is a very race preference town nowadays..so Mike Berry sez
I hope they found the bullet. It either broke the window, or it did not break the window. Also, there will be lots of glass powder on the victim if the window was broken by a bullet.
If she lied about the window, she’s guilty, if she didn’t lie, she goes home free.
Sort of hard to. Believe it was in self defense when she simply could have rolled up her window and locked the door or driven away....
I think she panicked and made a very bad mistake...
I am sure the shell station has cameras...video doesn’t lie...
Not all gun wielding motorists in road rage incidents have a good excuse:

Nassau couple charged after sex on the highway turns to confrontation
The Florida Times-Union ^ | September 18, 2012 | Dana Treen
Passion in a moving car on Interstate 95 ended in a Fernandina Beach couples arrest Sunday when another motorist who witnessed the sex was followed by the lovers and confronted, according to an arrest report.
In addition to indecent exposure, Ernest Felix Gonzales, 27, and Suzanne Welker, 31, were charged Sunday with aggravated assault for pulling a gun, according to the Nassau County Sheriffs Office.
Around 3 p.m. Sunday near the Nassau County line, a man and woman engaged in a sex act were spotted from the another lane. Then the woman, who the report said was naked and could be seen clearly by everyone in the area, started to climb into the drivers lap.
Louis Carr, 24, told deputies the driver, later identified as Gonzales, slowed down as soon as he realized people were watching.
He got behind Carrs pickup and began tailgating and trying to pass.
When Carr pulled into the parking lot, an angry Gonzales jumped out of the sport utility vehicle and Welker got out with a gun at her side. When a woman at the business told Welker they didnt want a gun there, it was pointed at her, the report said.
The Texas Stand Your Ground law allows for a reasonable use of deadly force if an intruder is unlawfully trying to enter a protected space. In this case, under the law, her car was the protected space and if he placed his hand on the door handle then she could reasonably assume he was attempting an illegal entry. She didn’t have to wait until he had opened the door or entered the car, under the law she has the right to shoot him. It’s a tragic death, but the law is what it is.
I want to know everything she has ever said or done. I want to see his crying family on TV non-stop telling us what a good boy he was. I want Jesse scumbag Jackson and Al douchebag Sharpton marching for justice.....
FReepers, do not look at the race and make stupid racist remarks. Look to the facts.
Minor accident, they both pulled into gas station. No one ran way. They were undoubtedly going to exchange insurance info.
Guy runs toward her, yells, hits her door, and tries to open it. Investigators have already sided with her. It is alleged that he broke her driver side window.
Her pastor cites her as a hard-working, values-based person.
Could she have just shown the gun and gotten him to back off? We will never know. But I can understand her fear.
