The question does still remain, however... why does the SSA require armed officers? I'll say there could very well be a legitimate purpose... building security? I don't know, but it would be interesting to hear the breakdown. I don't see any conspiracy here though, I'd need a lot more than just ammo purchases to be able to consider something like that.
Every one who has ever posted here other than Murry mom. I haven’t seen her in a long time, did she end up zotted?
Maybe its to had out to civilians when the mothership arrives.
How about replaying ammo manufacturers for campaign contributions?
Isnt there somewhere to compare this with previous years?
NOW ObamaCare makes sense...don’ t want to have to clutter up the trauma centers with evidence.....
Things that may ya go hmmmm
Civil servants armed with hollow points.
Sounds like someone is expecting some trouble as ObamaCare rolls out and taxes go thru the roof.
Well if they are really planning to use these babies for practice rounds you are going to get about 60,000 people with a hellava flinch. LOL!!!
“Unknown to Congress, Does DHS plan to declare war on some country?”
Yep, we call her “America”.
The point made about the NOAA fisheries person being armed points out the militarization of federal and state agency personnel. We have had CA Dept. of Fish and Game personnel dressed in full riot gear come up to a ranchers home to inquire about whether their irrigation practices dewatered a salmon stream. We have had them visit little old ladies in full armament to inquire whether they were sure they didn’t want to sign the coho incidental take permit. We have had them in the hallways at public meetings where DFG officials were speaking.
It is a Brave New World out there and should remind everyone that the true nature of government is force against the individual. It is why our founders delegated only small increments of power to fractionalized branches and levels of government, retianing to the individual that which was not delegated.
I’ve mentioned that border and domestic security offices might be simply trying to buy ammunition in advance to secure it before any new market craze and shortage happens. There’s another strong possibility: international war with foreign enemy guerrilla (terrorist) attacks within our own borders. There are Iran, Syria, other Middle Eastern countries, and elsewhere, other potentially more dangerous and likely international situations that most of us aren’t unaware of (to do with oil and ocean routes).
Are the newer domestic defense agencies weird? Of course, IMO, they’re strange and too civilian in nature. Bring back Civil Defense and military auxiliaries, I say. But our libertine generation rejects older and truly conservative wisdom from our fathers (great-grandfathers for many now), and the same aged hippies in leadership now don’t want to hear about any possible large attacks from foreigners.
True that much of the hysterical political speech is coming from some government administrators, but that is one attribute of contemporary politics (reminiscent of a spoiled gossip who won’t control her urges to defame and threaten neighbors).
As for politics, I’m irked at domestic politics on every side now. Too many regulations and too many government-income groups pushing for bigger pieces of the debt pie from both political parties. Too little production. Political speech has gone crazy (yes, crazier from the libertine left and initiated by the libertine left).
My first reaction to this was “Don’t be silly. Armed agents employed by these agencies need range time as much as any other LEOs do.” But then I remembered something about this administration: They loath lead ammo.
This bunch has been pushing “non-toxic” ammo for years now. (Never mind that the “non-toxic” ammo is made from more chemically reactive, and thus more toxic, metals than lead.) They might accept lead ammo for daily service use, but they really don’t like it at all for target practice; especially at indoor ranges.
So what are they planning to do with all of this lead ammo?
