What FReepers object to is blog-pimping: posting only an excerpt of one's own blog post, or any blog post whose owner doesn't require excerpting, with the suspected intention of boosting that blog's hit count.
Let us not be at odds about it. I post things from my blog here, as well, and have no issue with bloggers. I get called on the little stuff from time to time myself.
I hope the word “quibble” does not conflate in your mind to, “quarrel” or “dislike.” Don’t mind me.
What's with the personal attack? When I deblogged the YouTube video I didn't hassle you.
Let me get this straight: as a blogger you've hijacked somebody else's YouTube content and now you're upset that someone has linked to a video that's not yours? That's not your video on YouTube so why should you care if I directly link to it?
If my reply came off as a personal attack, I apologize. I have been attacked by people on this site who seem to believe that bloggers have no place here when JimRob has created a special section for them. I believe that people who bring new (as in not previously posted) material here should be welcomed, including bloggers.

Let me get you straight. I blog about something I find interesting and bring it to the attention of FreeRepublic and link to my blog because thats where I posted the information, and you complain? The fact that I didnt create the video is immaterial. The site I got it from didnt either and I didnt bother to try to find out where it first appeared because I didnt think anyone would care. But I got it from a great site maintained by Gerard vander Leun, and linked to him on my blog. So if I linked to vander Leun would you be accusing him of stealing material? He got it from someone else who got it from someone else because the original YouTube video has a 2011 date on it. Hes a blogger you know. How about the people who link to newspaper articles but comment on them, are they high jacking the newspapers?
What people like you are doing is driving people away from this site who have something to contribute. There were quite a few here who thought the video was very funny. You were the one who decided to make a big point about the fact that I didnt create it. I find that the mark of someone who has too much time on his hands and is, frankly, obnoxious. I dont want to create a flame war over a joke, so I will not comment further. Have a good day.
Who's driving anyone away? If you want to share the video with your fellow FReepers, then you can simply provide the link to YouTube directly as I did. I certainly didn't make a 'big deal' about it; I simply created a direct like to YouTube.
Or are you just trying to drive traffic to your blog?
Now that was funny.
