Sorry to hear that, but if you change your mind let me know and I’ll share some of my happiness with you because you have a right to it also.
The test of faith is to learn to do just that rather than relying on our resources and self effort.
The test of faith is to learn to do just that rather than relying on our resources and self effort.
That's one of the best frames of mind you can have to begin every day.
No, I think that's the wrong way to take things -- didn't Jesus say "I am come not to destroy the law, but to fulfill the law."
Thus the cross, which, as God's Word tells us, "blot[ed] out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" (Col 2:14).
God's Word tells us, "he [Jesus] obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them...[and] in that he says, A new covenant, he has made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away" (Hebrews 8:6-8,13).
Therefore, because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, "sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace" (Romans 6:14).
This is the best news I've ever heard. But that's exactly what the gospel is: GOOD NEWS!
But this is only to those who believe on Jesus; those who reject him are still condemned under the Law, or by the world that bears witness.
That's one of the best frames of mind you can have to begin every day.
I think so too. In a 44 year time-span, I've gone from the dark mental pit to a bright life learning this stuff.
May I add, IMO, the greatest frame of mind we can learn is to live like the apostle John: "I am the one who Jesus loves." Anyone who wants to can say that because it's true.
However, few of us learn to focus on His overwhelming and unchanging love for us (we tend to worry about our fluctuating love for him). In 1 John, God tells us what love really is: "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us" (1 John 4:10). The benefits of living in the knowledge and belief of His love for us moment-by-moment is wonderful:
"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (my comment: another thrilling truth we find hard to accept - that we now have the gift of righteous and are now like Jesus). There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:17,18.
I think God is helping us to be effective and fruitful in these last days before Jesus comes back.
But this is only to those who believe on Jesus; those who reject him are still condemned under the Law
True. One problem, however, is so many believers live as though they are still under the law, which actually causes them to sin. Since the law condemns sin, many live under both the law and condemnation. This is like being in a prison. But Jesus has released us from prison and set us free from the law and condemnation (Rom 6:14)! Hallelujah!
Armed with the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, we can we can be a shining light to as many as possible in these last days before Jesus returns for us.
If we had never lost that mindset, we likely wouldn't be where we are today, with Isaiah 9:10 seemingly holding the clues for what what comes next.
Can't say we didn't know better...
Recent poll showed zer0 has lost 23% of the blacks in GA.
Muslims do not approve of gay marriage or abortion.
There are hairline cracks showing in the MSM support. Plus, they are losing viewers/readers.
