A spy camera on every corner and in every hallway.
Spy drones watching our front doors and logging in our visitors.
GPS trackers in every car, truck and telephone
Software recording every purchase and financial transaction.
The Feds monitoring our telephone calls and other communications
It won't be long before we have USSR style Block Captains and Apartment Monitors.

Have some new info on the zombie attacks...
Apparently, folks are using some kind of bath salt to get high and this is what's causing these attacks. Source of this info is one of my generator customers, she's the wife of a LEO.

Yeah "Bath Salts" (from what I understand ) is a new Street Drug that has elements of LSD in it...
However we all know that "Bath Salts" is code for the ZOMPOC virus...!

My thoughts and experience exactly. I am a CERT member for Travis County, and it has pretty much just been about being aware of circumstances and surroundings and being prepared to take care of yourself and your neighborhood in case of emergency, as they state pretty clearly that if things go Tango-Uniform, help ain’t coming any time soon so you better be ready to take care of things yourself.

Speaking historically, about food... Salt, pepper, and sugar were all pretty valuable.
Meat? Any bozo can get that. Carbs? Harder, but doable.
Refined sugar or salt or pepper?
Not here.
I'm going by historical references on the relative values of things. Those monks were pretty smart.
And could actually write.

The rain water diversion was done a while ago.
2 ft of 4" PVC, capped, with a 1.25" pvc fitting in the cap to a 1.25" hose, from the downspout (spout run inside of 4" pvc) into the 1st barrel.
Then, on the sides of the other barrels, an 'in' and a 'out' pvc fitting, with hose, to the next barrel.
A good half inch of rain filled all three barrels...a little bird poo from the roof mixed into the water!
Gotta work on a way to filter it next. Got the 1" diameter clorine tablets to kill any bacteria in it.
Just gotta get the sediment out! Shingle grit has to be emptied out occasionally.
Good source of plastic drums...local car wash gives them to me for free!...I check with them every two weeks, they save them for me!
I could fill a page with my prep purchases in the last year!

rebar wire, axes, pepper spray. tasers, knives, 30 boxes of borax and washing soda, 10 dozen canning jars, DE, rain gutter diversion kits, 28 bags of charcoal, fire starter flint kits, fish antibiotics, 55 gallon drums, 24 bags of pool shock, fire brick maker, and this is only in the last 6 months.
24 bags of shock? wow. I have about 10 and think I probably got too much.
It doesn't take much borax and washing soda to make a huge amount of laundry soap. I 'accidentally' made about 10 gallons (thought it would just make a gallon, but it kept growing and gelling, so I diluted it so I could pour it instead of washing with a stiff gelatin-type brick). LOL! Worked great though. You'll have enough to last a LONG time with 30 boxes.
Way to go with your planning! I need to do the fish antibiotic thing too - thx for the reminder.
To: Donnafrflorida
Yes they are cool, I’m just amazed at how many people have one but have no idea how to use it. Or have ever actually started a fire with one.

“24 bags of shock? “
Shock (the right kind) will make a great barter item.
