Congrats to you BoSox faithful.... may you enjoy many more.
We are only celebrating 50 years for Dodger Stadium.
Congrats to Fenway, even though everyone knows the true home of MLB will always be the House That Ruth/Steinbrenner/NY Taxpayers Built.
2nd place ain’t so bad, though! Shabby Chic never goes out of style :-)
J/K....truly, congrats, BoSox Nation
Sawx Fa-evah!!!
The team celebrated 100 the same way they opened the stadium, losing to the Yankees. Tear down that dump and build a real baseball park. Same can be said for Wrigley
The greatness of the Boston/New York rivarly is both the history and the legacy of it. Even in the off-season that rivarly lives in the minds of the fans for both teams rent-free.
Thank-you for your good word! Win, lose , or draw, Red Sox Nation is legendary.
For your information, the newer stadiums are simply doing what Fenway Park has become, be A REAL BASEBALL STADIUM.
Besides, Fenway Park, thanks to a number of much needed face lifts, has become the park it is, by living up to its name as a TRUE CLASSIC MLB PARK that NO Newer Stadium can lift a candle to.
Congrats on 50 years of for Dodger Stadium.
Heard a few weeks ago that a group lead by Magic Johnson bought the Dodgers? Can you fill me on it please. THANKS.
Thank-you!
That is a really cool pic.
Considering it took place two years after Fenway Park opened up, it shows what Fenway looked at that time.
It’s a rat infested dump.
Can’t wait to hear your report about the centennial festivities. Sorry to learn Boston lost to the Yankees.
Yet this “dump” as you call it, still brings the fans in. As it has been said, it is the other stadiums when going to build new, go back to the roots of baseball and get inspiration from Fenway Park.
Not surprised by the lost. Problem right now is injuries or those who have come back from injuries.
No problem. It is as you state. Magic is basically the figurehead for a very savvy group of businessmen who paid $2 billion-plus for the Dodgers, and I believe the sale becomes FINAL on the last day of this month.
After that time, we will learn more about the new owners and their plans for the team. In the meantime, Dodgers fans are jubilant and the team is HOT.
The fly in the ointment is that we are not totally rid of McCourt, as he retains the stadium parking lot. This is totally funky, and I don't understand it myself, as I planned to celebrate the day he leaves L.A. for-EVER.
So, we have questions, as the business remains tied up in legalities (McCourt's specialty)......
Yet this dump as you call it, still brings the fans in
Correction. I rightly called it a”rat infested dump” and stand by that statement. Most of the fans it brings in are rats too
Yet they “booed” and booed bigtime when Obama gave a congrats message in honor of Fenway Park’s 100th. So that says even in very blue MA folks are not happy either.
Also Fenway I believe is a national historic landmark. Will have to do my info search on that one.
Hi, hope got an opportunity to have seen the 100th anniversary gathering at Fenway this past Friday.
