Islam is in a demographic death spiral too, but until they do collapse, the threat from Islam will grow (even though they are not the greatest threat facing mankind, but one manifestation of it.) Read this book:
Youve heard about the Death of the West. But the Muslim world is on the brink of an even greater collapse. WILL WE GO DOWN IN THE IMPLOSION? Thanks to collapsing birthrates, much of Europe is on a path of willed self-extinction. The untold story is that birthrates in Muslim nations are declining faster than anywhere elseat a rate never before documented. Europe, even in its decline, may have the resources to support an aging population, if at a terrible economic and cultural cost. But in the impoverished Islamic world, an aging population means a civilization on the brink of total collapse something Islamic terrorists know and fear. Muslim decline poses new threats to America, challenges we cannot even understand, much less face effectively, without a wholly new kind of political analysis that explains how desperate peoples and nations behave. In How Civilizations Die, David P. Goldmanauthor of the celebrated Spengler column read by intelligence organizations worldwidereveals how, almost unnoticed, massive shifts in global power are remaking our future.

There you go, from dictionary.com, do try and educate yourself, because the enemies of capitalism are counting on your ignorance. So far, so good...for them.
Excellent survey and summary.
On the death of the West, and especially Europe and Russia, I would add Mark Steyn’s “America Alone” to your list.
I don’t think people realize the nature of demographics. It may appear that the numbers are growing, but that is largely because death rates have declined with modern medicine, so people live longer. That is especially true, in recent years, in third world countries.
But a population with numerous children growing up is very different from a population with numerous old people living to a greater age.
In Europe and Japan, the numbers seem fairly stable—but they will dive as the older generations pass away. And they are already growing unsustainable, as there are not enough working age people to support the retired people, something we are now beginning to see in our own country.
Islam is designed to produce rising populations, partly by enslaving the women from other cultures, and by taking the babies from other cultures (as the Turks did in Greece), which has helped its spread in the past. But even Islam has been at least partly infected by our modern cultural death wish.
The terrible thing about demographics is that by the time people wake up and realize what is happening, it may already be about 20 years too late.
I WILL NO LONGER HAVE A GOVERNMENT TEACHER FOR MY FRIEND!
.........
I guess that would be the same approach Jesus took when he decided not to have any sinners among his friends.
Who gets to pick which 2 billion of us go??
Seriously, with thinking like that, you could get yourself a pretty high-ranking job in the Obama White House.
This is great!! Thanks!!
Now, find me some more hours in the day so that I could actually read it all! Or just give me the Cliffs notes version when we have dinner in Feb.
Im not volunteering mind you but I think wed all be better off if about 2 billion people vanished. Why? And how?
Babies are a good thing. Life matters. God cares.
Not only should we be multiplying through natural birth but also because we are leading multitudes into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Believers must get serious about The LORD and His calling on our lives. The time to live for ourselves, filling our lives with most everything but God, is over. We have sowed everything but the seeds of faith towards God's Word and we are reaping corruption. Political, economic, military and every other problem that this Country is facing is the result of our keeping The LORD out of His rightful place, the center of our lives. If we, as a people, do not come to grips with this we are over, but if we do only The LORD knows the blessings He has in store for us.

The answer to anyone who talks about the surplus population is to ask him, whether he is part of the surplus population; or if not, how he knows he is not.

Yep. I wish I had more but He has only entrusted me with 1.
We homeschool.
Some choices are available to God that aren't available to us. I'm not saying this is one of those cases, but it means that this argument isn't definitive.
OTOH, Proverbs says that, "He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."
1 Corinthians 15:33 says "Do not be deceived, 'bad company corrupts good morals."
Are teachers "bad company" or "fools?" That's what the issue turns on, and wintertime makes a pretty good case that government school teachers are at least foolish.
"Red" wagon", "blue sky" "jumbo shrimp" (lol, I know that has to blow your infantile mind), say it now.....C R O N Y C A P I T I L I S M....the art of friends payin other friends in their power circle to profit....aka Pay to Play, you know the Chicago way!
You have to be the most dense, analy entrenched posters I've ever seen here on FR.
It all essentially boils down to a lack of God and, by extension, a lack of morality, and it’s getting exponentially worse with each generation.
I believe that is why we are doomed as a species. We don’t need asteroids, or volcanoes, or disease, or space aliens, or anything of the sort.
We carry the seeds of our destruction in our souls, or lack thereof.
Well, 2 billion of us wouldn't be better off.

As I meander into my dotage, I often wonder about the many kids we did not have. Then I sigh.
If we, as a people, had on a much greater level, gone out and preached the Gospel to every creature our enemies would either be our brethren or at least neutered.
It seems that we have pretty much bought into a false idea of what life is all about. Many have have sought mainly to entertain themselves and have bought into the notion that we are here to accumulate material things and enjoy ourselves through selfish pleasures while the world has been "going to hell in a hand basket". We have been as Nero who fiddled as Rome burned, blinded to our true calling, our responsibility, which is to serve The LORD.
