Agreed, and thx for the heads-up UC
Much obliged
“Hopefully, conservatives will coalesce around Gingrich. He dropped when there was a vacuum of debates and Romney made his move to destroy him. With the debates back, he can speak for himself and will hopefully rise again. There are two more debates before the SC vote.”
I am praying for precisely that
We all want a conservative, but people are not voting for them. Why?!
We only had one vote and people did vote for a conservative in Santorum. Newt and Perry received votes too. All three of them had votes from conservatives. I think people are voting for conservatives. Tomorrow the three will receive even more conservative votes.
No prob. Just wanted to point it out before a troll gives you flak over it.
Agreed on all points, but the time to get behind him is NOW imho
Mitt is pulling out a lead in SC and now Florida, where Newt enjoyed leads of 16 and 7 points respectably, I just want it Gingrich vs Romney by the time we get to delegate-jackpot Florida...
“We all want a conservative, but people are not voting for them. Why?!”
Could it be the vocal majority are not conservative? Could it be that such wouldn’t recognize one if it bit them? There does seem to be some question in the mind of the electorate.
The Right is split 4 ways, allowing a RINO without major support to walk away with it
That’s the problem... esp considering most of them haven’t a prayer of winning
Funny how quiet that issue has become around here.
We know Romney is a disaster for the 2nd Amendment, how about examining the others?
OK, I implore you then Mr J lol
AND your observation is most astute... factions, indeed
I wanted to barf yesterday when Romney responded (paraphrasing) “look at my record” when asked why voters should view him as a conservative. Really Mr. Romney? You can stand there and call yourself conservative with Romneycare in your past? I half expected him to burst into flames.
We haven’t even had one primary yet. Let the people decide.
I know that it may be hard to accept that anyone could have less stature than John McCain, but believe it or not Mitt Romney fills the bill.
Romney will NOT match McCain's 2008 South Carolina performance. He'll be hard pressed to match his own 2008 15%.
I tell you one thing about blogging... they keep you honest lol
Thx again
Boy do I hope you're right. However, reality tells me this: Rasmussen Election 2012: South Carolina Republican Primary (Romney 27%, Santorum 24%, Gingrich 18%)
I think we have time. We can wait until after SC. Vote for your favorite not Romney in NH and SC. Then we coalesce.
The main thing is to make sure and ignore the media coronation of Romney after he wins these contests.
As long as not Romney has more votes than Romney, we can coalesce and beat him.
“Theres plenty of time to unite behind the winner.”
The idea here is to CHOOSE the winner (instead of leaving that to the media, the establishment, to independent voters and even Democrats in some primary sectors)!!!!!!!!!
Oh, come on. The first primary, and a meaningless one at that, hasn't even be held yet, and you are already talking about somebody "walking away with it"?
After Florida the field will look much different. Romney's inevitability myth will have been shattered in Sought Carolina, not resurrected in Florida, and the non-Romney's will be winnowed to no more than two.
I don't know who the eventual nominee will be, but I sure as hell know it won't be Romney.
No more "nose holding" and voting for "lesser evils."
Period.
ps, Big push on Twitter to slam the Bain film before it is even out. They are spinning it to be an anti-capitalism film, and therefore, Newt is against capitalism. They are also spinning that Newt is a big, bad mean person. IT IS NOT about Newt being mean or being anti-capitalism. It is the truth about Mitt, it is about corruption, bailouts, crony capitalism. We need to fight the spin.
There is a lot of time between now and the vote. Romeny won’t be able to sustain that 27%, which is already a reduced number from a week ago.
The petals are already falling from Romney’s rose.
More immediately, while I think Romeny will still win New Hampshire, I think he will underperform there to an extent that will surprise the elites and help set the stage for his collapse in South Carolina.
