More on government-controlled drug ingredient quotas here. Wow, I knew many pharmaceutical drugs were restricted or banned almost completely, but I never had an inkling about gov't production quotas.
How can the gov't, with their crystal ball, pretend to know in advance how much of anything the public and industry will need, particularly core ingrediants for thousands of pharmaceuticals?
This is central planning at its very worst. We can look forward to much more like this if the Zero gets four more years. Which is why I will probably vote for whatever stuffed animal the Republican Party nominates.
BTW, I truly feel your pain, as I was on the same quest for a legal prescription for anti-anxiety drugs for years. I'm happy to say that I now am getting just the medications I need, and at a fraction of the usual cost. But I know you have gone through hell seeking a solution, so GOOD LUCK, TSR.

To keep this in some perspective, my problem is just getting my hands on a drug that helps me be high-functioning while doing my work. Think about the people suffering terrible pain who can't get the drugs they need because the DEA is worried somebody might get high.

Whoops! Haven’t had my caffene this morning yet. I wonder when the DEA will try and overregulate that?

I watched a program where an elderly fella was arrested by the local boy’z in blue for buying heroin on the street.
He was dying of cancer and couldn't afford the meds. It was cheaper to by the opiate on the street.

I had Mucinex the other day for a horrible cough.
It put me on the couch with cramps and stabbing pain in my intestines.
Won’t be taking that again.

How can the gov't, with their crystal ball, pretend to know in advance how much of anything the public and industry will need, particularly core ingrediants for thousands of pharmaceuticals? And if by some bizarre circumstance this is the one time government is the wisest party at the table, by what RIGHT do they pretend to meddle in business of their masters that's none of their affair?

Actually aside from being in jail, that’s not a bad solution for him. THEY’LL have to medicate him for pain now at THEIR expense. Oops!

There are some amino acids which, when taken on an empty stomach, can improve dopamine levels. Probably not as effective as Adderall, but the issue with prescription meds like this is that they tend to lose their effectiveness when taken over long periods of time.

The big question is, is it government meddling that's causing the shortage or is it Shire pharmaceuticals, trying to manipulate doctors into prescribing its expensive, patented-till-2023 drug Vyvanse? It can be both not either/or. 0bamaCare will fix that. 0bamaCare will fix it so you get screwed more ways than the Kama Sutra ever imagined.
I used my detective skills to track down the phone number and email address of a DEA spokespiece who's acted all bewildered about the shortage in news stories that have quoted him.
The Feds are good at lying. It could be that the DEA has re-routed enormous quantities of amphetamine precursor chemicals to Mexican drug cartels in order to "track them." It is also an election year so it is a win-win for the FedMob to deprive as many citizens as possible of the ability to concentrate.

...Yea, those taxed drugs, GOOD DRUGS. It’s those untaxed drugs that are bad for you. Then why is Keith Richards still alive? A little hole in the theory Mr. Surgeon General.

It may be getting to the point that the general population will have to go the way of Mexican drug dealers and just declare the 2nd Amendment on federal DEA agents.
Beteen asthma inhalers, pseudephedrine, marijuana and other useful painkillers, the Drug War is our war and the government and even some of you FReepers are on the wrong side.
Funny as it sounds, the drug dealers and the government are on the same side in wanting to keep the drugs illegal.

Funny as it sounds, the drug dealers and the government are on the same side in wanting to keep the drugs illegal. That doesn't sound surprising to me. All the unwholesome, anti-freedom, anti-citizen forces aligned on the same side...what's surprising about that?
