Same here but fortunately my house is kinda on the edge of town. About three miles from the Gulf and the fishies stored there.

Not ideal but its the best I can afford.

The NW idea is a terrific kernel to build upon. We haven’t had any breakins or gang activity around here to give me an excuse to start up a local NW yet. But I make a point of being seen around our 100 or so homes, jogging and so forth. When the time comes to discuss security, I expect to wiggle into a place of influence, but not the top dog spot.

The NW idea is a terrific kernel to build upon.

It's not like we planned it that way or anything. It just kind of happened. First there was me and Mrs. L, then there were those nice folks down the block who brought a six pack and we started talking about guns and stuff. After that is was the nice Filipino Air Force vet across the street and his sons, then it was...

Before long we were talking politics and well, you know.

By complete coincidence there are 105 homes in our neighborhood. We counted them for the NW fliers. Out of those 105 we have about 45 or so who show up at the meetings. Out of that we now have a 'cadre' of a 10 families we've opened up to.

And I hope you don't think me rude, but I'd offer that it's already time to talk about security my friend. Once the waves are coming over the bow it's a little late to start thinking about lifeboats.

And believe me, the last thing I ever want to be is top dog. Thanks, but no thanks. Mrs. L, however, was born to be Alpha Bitch. And yes, I've said that to her face. LOL. All I want to do is plant the seeds. I'd pretty much suck at running things.

I wish us all luck, because 2012 just feels to me like it’s going to be “interesting.”
