I’ve got a Republican friend who bought one of these.
He still likes it but he spends the entire trip planning if he can make it home to recharge it.

Too much work for me.

Yeah, Coleman gas should stay fresh, or people could add Sta-Bil. But, I don’t think the Volt will let you chose not to run the engine. It burns a little fuel every so often so that you would end up replacing all the fuel in 6 months or something like that. I guess it’s good for the gas engine to run every so often also.

That is true, if you dont start up a gas engine at least once a month the gaskets tend to dry up and it will leak like a sieve later.

Fill it up with colman white gas, it does not have a shelf life. SHTF fuel.

will any car run on that?

Cars work great on it as it is unleaded. However where it comes in great for SHTF scenarios is for chainsaws. Add some mix oil and fire away.
