Funny thing is, with all the Bush I and Bush II bashing I’ve heard around FR over the years, my first thought was: there are a lot of freepers who *wished* they’d voted for Clinton in 1992!

I HAVE done my homework. You’re the one being driven by emotions.

You can’t keep your facts straight and you go around making silly accusations and calling people racists with nothing to support that.

Call me when you’ve grown up some.

Allegra, thank you for your service. I’m an old Army guy myself. Which branch were you in?

In looking over the article again, perhaps some of my earlier remarks were overboard. For that, I apologize.

I understand the frustration of the Perrybots here that their candidate is not getting any traction. Calling people heartless because they don’t agree with his pro-amnesty position will do that. (And protest all you want, he is pro-amnesty.)

That does not justify this scurrilous and unfair attack on the character of Mr. Cain. I find this article offensive, to say the least.

There is no sexual harassment in comparing someone’s height to another person's height.

Um, that's exactly why these complaints were unsubstantiated. That means that, after they were investigated, they were found not to constitute sexual harassment.

Wanting to re-open this case is extremely unhelpful, unproductive and unfair. It is closed. It was a long time ago. People can come forward and say all kinds of things that can neither be corroborated nor refuted.

Why would you want this kind of ridiculous distraction brought into the GOP race at this time? This is exactly what the Left wants, however.

If you believe the mere existence of a sexual harassment complaint against Cain is enough to impugn his character or conduct -- even though that complaint was unsubstantiated and closed without any action whatsoever taken against Mr. Cain and, instead, the women were paid-off to shut up and get the hell out of the assocation -- by all means, do what you gotta do.

But don't wish this ridiculous and worthless drama on the rest of us. We are trying to hire someone who can beat Barack Obama in 2012.

The cost of paying these things is lower than the cost of litigating, even when you’re completely innocent. This is a serious flaw in our legal system and needs to be addressed.

Perry is an open-borders, pro-amnesty guy. His positions on the issues reflect that. I realize that makes his supporters uncomfortable, but facts are facts.

I’m interested in finding out if Cain, as the CEO of a big company, exercised his power over subordinate female employees in an unlawful way.

What don't you understand about the fact that these complaints were investigated and no -- repeat ZERO -- sexual harassment was found to have occurred?

Why do you think you are in a better position to judge what happened than the people who were there, who conducted the investigation, who are trained in the law, and who made the final decision, WHICH WAS ACCEPTED BY THE WOMEN WHO COMPLAINED?

They had every opportunity to appeal the finding against them in court. They did not. Instead, they took a pay-out and moved on.

If you don't know why pay-outs are offered and accepted, read this article, as it explains it very well:

There is genuine harassment, and there is the liberal version of shake down.

I have seen both in my life, from what I see, this is likely the liberal version.

Clinton was an example of the heavy handed harassment, entitled to sex from his subordinates because of his position, plus he was a democrat and could get away with it by pretending to care; there isn't a hint of that here, which tells me it's the liberal version, aka shakedown. Clarence Thomas redux.

Probably when the next round of polls come out. This episode will hurt him.

This is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you.

I want to hear the other side of the story, and I am sure most Americans want to hear it as well.

I'm sorry, this sounds like so much of the overload of celebrity crime stories. People sitting around entertaining themselves with the Casey Anthony or Amanda Knox case.

Or reading a NYT article and thinking on that basis they can understand and evaluate the case better than the several courts that reviewed it and even the Supreme Court.

This was a very inconsequential complaint. As I posted upthread, the HR director said she doesn't even remember the complaints. It was investigated, found unsubstantiated and closed.

Wanting to hear the story of the women just smacks of Oprahism. It can't possibly have anything to do with vetting Mr. Cain, because nothing real or reliable can come out of having people come forward and yammer or lie about events 15 years ago.

Yeh, I agree! I would be putting one of those Cain 2012 bumper stickers on my vehicle but I do not own a vehicle.

And it was about time that a RINO on Free Republic came clean and told “IT” like it is.

Attacking conservatives is what RINOs do - see Romney and Perry for advice. These attacks simply do not match theirs at this point. Cain is who Cain says he is. Success will always bring envy for those who have never enjoyed it.

For all you RINOs that want to attack Cain, please continue to make marshmallow smores and send them my way. Marshmallows are hard to find in Thailand what with the floods and stuff.

Thanks for the link. I'll read it. But I have read a ton on Cain's sex scandal already and, like my article at the top of this 400 post monstrosity says, I see a pattern of an ego-driven, arrogant know-it-all in Herman Cain. Cain doesn't believe that the rules apply to him. I have had abusive bosses like what I am hearing out of the Cain campaign.

I'll give Cain a pass on sexual harassment. I will not give him a pass on attempting to bamboozle all of us into thinking that he is viable, presentable presidential material.

He's not. And that's all I need to know about it.

In other news, it seems that Toby Keith has become a card-carrying PerryBot. I like that.

What you’re complaining about is just politics. Of course it’s “unfair.” That’s because it’s completely SUBJECTIVE.

People like who they like and they don’t like who they don’t like.

When they like somebody, they forgive him. When they don’t like somebody, they remember his faults.

It’s really nothing to get upset about. Nor will it ever change. It is what it is. And it’s really not personal.

That does not justify this scurrilous and unfair attack on the character of Mr. Cain. I find this article offensive, to say the least.

You will be hard-pressed to find any quotes from me that have been negative about Mr. Cain or that have supported anything relative to these latest accusations. Even upthread here, you can see that I suspect Team Mitt in all of this.

In looking over the article again, perhaps some of my earlier remarks were overboard. For that, I apologize.

I sincerely appreciate that.

And thank you very much for your service.

To naswer your question, I wasn't in the military; I have been working as a contactor directly embedded with the Army and the Air Force on a variety of missions. And they still want me to go back....to Afghanistan this time.

The jury is still out on that.

Have a good night.

I don’t think it’s going to hurt. The charges were investigated and the investigation found the charges untrue. Period. When that is clear, I think this scurrilous attack will help Cain.
